Hey All;

In this post, we would be looking into migrating GOLEM tokens GNT to the new token version GLM via the Golem Token Migrator tool.

Actually, the migration started long back in the month of November 2020, and it's recently that I came to know about this GNT to GLM migration. For safety purposes and to see that tool works properly and I don't mess around with something, I'll be migrating a small amount of GNT tokens first before I initiate a bulk of GNT tokens i.e. close to 3k+ tokens migration.

Step By Step Process to Migrate GNT tokens to GLM ERC-20 token

- Step 1 Browse to GNT to GLM Migration Tool & Connect to Your ETH Wallet

Visit the GNT to GLM Migration Tool Here Please double-check the URL twice and ensure that its a secure connection i.e. HTTPS. The same can be verified by clicking the num padlock as shown in the following image; stating that the connection is secure.

Once you're sure and have doubled checked the Migration URL. Connect to your ETH wallet. In our example, I'm using MetaMask to connect to my ETH wallet. You may use other Apps like Trezor or Ledger to connect to your ETH Wallet.

As seen from the above image, I've connected to my ETH Wallet and there are close to 3.3K+ GNT tokens to be migrated.

- Step 2 Select Number of Tokens to be Migrated

As discussed above, I'll be migrating a smaller chunk of GNT tokens i.e. 35. The next step is to click the convert but and enter the number of tokens to be converted. The same can be depicted in the following image::

- Step 3 Final Step is to Confirm the Transaction

While confirming the transaction, I saw that it's going to cost me around $14 for migrating 35 GNT tokens. And then again initiating another transaction for the remaining 3.3K+ GNT tokens, I would need to shed another $15. Since I'm sure with the process and have read all the other related information. I'm going to convert all the GNT tokens to GLM at once.

Hence, canceled the initiated transaction of 35 GNT tokens and initiating a new one to migrate 3.3K+ GNT tokens to GLM.

Click Confirm Transaction and check on the Gas price. This migration from GNT to GLM costed me around $18 and the same is shown on the MetaMask App to confirm the transaction.

Once you have checked the Gas price and confirm the transaction. It takes a while for the transaction hash status to change to success.

Once 10+ Block confirmation is received, you will notice the migration tool URL showcase the transaction has been completed and the same can be verified on your MetaMask App.

Here is the snapshot of my MetaMask App showcasing the GLM tokens has been migrated to the new ERC20 GLM tokens.

Mission successful. GNT tokens migrated to GLM tokens successfully.

Finally, note if you have your GNT tokens in exchange. Then you don't need to do anything but need to check if your exchange is supporting the migration or not. Here is the link:: GLM Migration Tracker where you can check on the status of various exchanges which is supporting the migration of the GNT to GLM ERC20 tokens.

Best Regards
