Hey All,

source

Since there is chaos in share market and stocks being available at discounted prices. I thought to do a bit of research before and pick some large cap stocks and add them to my watch list and buy them in near future. Off lately, I have been building my stock portfolio and have been focusing only buying during the DIPs & here is the overall summary of my stock portfolio::

I am currently sitting at a loss of close to 4% overall. But the plan is to keep building my stock portfolio by buying in large cap stocks at discounted prices. From the list of Top 10 Indian companies by Market Value, I want to pick some banking and IT sector stocks. During the last couple of trading session, IT and Banking sector has taken a hefty beating. But, I still see there is a room for stock prices to further decline.

Reliance Industries leads the Indian Industries with the highest market cap of US$99 Bil. Approx. To be honest at Rs.2.4K per share it still is over priced and my target for Reliance Industries is somewhere Rs.2k then only would I be investing in it. Looking at the Top 10 most valuable companies here in India the market cap figure is most important. As it determines the company’s size in money terms and it is a very important characteristic of a company that interests the investors. Here is the formula to determine the Market cap aka market capitalization.

Market Capitalization/Cap is calculated by multiplying the price of a stock by its total number of outstanding shares. Higher the market cap the better it is and should be preferred stock category to buy. From the banking sector, I have ICICI bank which is at the top 10 position and having a market cap of US$ 28 Bil. Speaking of IT sector then its Infosys favorite of all when it comes to internet technologies. Though TCS being second most valuable company but still I am not planning to buy TCS at current levels. This top 10 most valuable stocks in India list has given me some good insights to what to target in my stock portfolio and I would be looking at their 52 weeks highs and lows and then would be deciding when to pull the trigger to start accumulating these large cap stocks.
