So I am trying to mix it up a bit, but I am subject to the whims of whatever I might find at the coin store.

You might call me a bit a of a Prospector and that is exactly the silver round that I bought today, an Englehard Prospector Silver Round.

And what a fine Carolina Fall day it was today to go prospecting for silver. The sky was so clear and blue you could see where the Eagles fly.

Another ounce for the stack!

Can I tell ya something. After my last few visits to the Coin Store something struck me as rather odd, just an observation but yet again something strange that gets the mind of @handofzara pondering a bit. Now this could be something or it could be nothing at all.

So two weeks ago I picked up a coin I personally had never seen before, that in itself does not mean anything BUT then again it could mean something.

Do you see the year 1974?

And then the Englehard that I bought today was minted in 1985.

Then I seemed to remember that most of the silver rounds I saw at the coin store were of older vintage, some being rather tarnished.

Now what do you make of that. Anything or is this nothing at all?

So what are the possibilities?

Did someone finally decide to sell these silver pieces after being tucked away for years?

Now this is a possibility, as one of my grandmothers stacked silver coins all her life. And when she reached a certain age, she began to sell her silver to enjoy the finer things above what a pension and Social Security could provide.

Are things getting a little tough out there and the silver was needed to buy groceries this week?

Decades ago somewhere in the last century, my grandmother used to place a silver coin in my hand and whisper in my ear, "This is real money and you hold on to this. You might need it to buy something to eat one day."

Did that day come for someone this day?

Or perhaps are we living in the days of the passing for many who had long held onto their silver only to have it sold for the Estate Tax? Or worse by some heir who knows not what a true inheritance silver really is?

Sometimes I think it is an odd thing to stack silver and gold for that matter. I wonder when shall I sell it and for what purpose? Shall it be to buy something to eat? Will it be sold to pay taxes? Will I never sell it and just one day hand it down to my children?

I don't know. What I am certain of is that Silver is "Real Money" and it is the money of Common Folk.

And as I am most base, common and sometimes popular, I will be holding my own Money come what may.

What do make of all of this? What have you seen as of late in the way of silver coins? Anything that gets your mind to ponder just a bit? Let me know.

Peace out and stack on!
