An Inspiring Movie That Caused Me to Pause & Reflect...

I have a love/hate relationship with these kinds of movies...You know what they are before they start...you're going to get kicked in the groin, iced down, and then have your tear ducts ripped apart like a slumlord's plumbing problem.

I just got back from watching the movie American Underdog. It is a story about Kurt Warner's journey going from a college football player to an NFL Super Bowl MVP and record breaker.

The story took my heartstrings through the ringer. As most inspiring movies, you get drudged through the waste and muck of what life throws at you when you're trying to accomplish something great. Keep pushing, keep doing, and keep persisting, and the end result is that life is supposed to give back.

I found this movie to be almost as heart wrenching as the Search for Happyness. It's not the same, but it has parallels. I have started, run, and closed several businesses throughout my life and yet here I am, still forging my way through the fire of it all. I truly believe in financial success for my family and me through efforts that I put forth. Here are consistencies in both inspiring movies:

1. You have to work hard.
2. Your hard work prepares you for the moment when someone else has to bring you to the next step.
3. You can't get to the next step all by yourself. There's always someone else that has to open the path because of your hard work, not before your hard work.
4. No one cares about your story if you got there easily. They only care if you had to struggle like everyone else in life seems to before you get there, because you can become an inspiration if you look life in the eyes, curse it out, and walk through like no one's business!

I have tenacity. My mother has always told me that "tenacity" is the best word to describe me. I don't give up. I believe I will succeed at what I believe to be success financially. Work is not foreign to me. We're on a first-name basis. We have been roommates for a very long time.

One thing I really appreciate about movies like this is they force you to take a step back and look at the journey of where you've been, where you are, and where you see yourself going. I see myself going far and I'm on the right path. unsplash image

I suggest you watch the movie. Other than the lead lady not being very attractive (my opinion), I think it's a very enjoyable movie and found myself contemplating my next moves in life. If you've seen either movie I mentioned, what are your thoughts? Any other movies you'd recommend to me?
