Spring temperatures this weekend

Two weeks ago I wrote a post that we had about 40 centimeters of snow to process, and that I had the feeling that I lived in an ice cellar. Since yesterday the weather type has completely changed to the other side, and we can enjoy wonderful spring-like temperatures. Oh, what a joy! The sun on my face and without a coat outside with the dogs. Heating up naturally without having to stand cold by the stove. And seriously… no better, more pleasant, finer heat than the sun. Yes, we currently enjoy temperatures here that are between 15 and 20 degrees. And I can tell you, that is a pleasure for my frozen body to thaw again and to be able to slowly omit the extra layers of clothing.

Nervous for the dentist

And it was a good thing that this week it all thawed because last Tuesday I had to drive about 66 kilometers to pay a visit to the dentist. 66 kilometers for the dentist? Isn't there any closer to your house? You may ask yourself. And yes, there are certainly dentists closer to my house. We also heard about the dentist in the small village where I live, and there are several. However, these are not reimbursed by the basic health insurance. And the dentist I have been to now does address the deductible of my health insurance, but it is the only chance I have to get further treatment reimbursed. So well, since the costs for the dentist will increase considerably, and I cannot afford this financially, this is the only option. I will still have to wait and see how it will continue… but, I try not to worry about that now. It remains to be seen what my health insurance will decide. So fingers crossed for good news about that soon.

Fortunately, at least on Tuesday it was time that 99% of the snow was all gone and the roads were passable. And thank god I didn't have to go alone, but my partner took half a day off to ride. To be on the safe side, we also put Skipper in the car, so that Skipper had an extra trip. That way we had solved two problems at once. Skipper could not bother Myla and Lana at home with his energy, and my partner had company while he had to wait, because he was not allowed to come in with me for the dental appointment due to corona measures.

On the way there I was not so concerned with the environment, even though I would normally have had more of an eye for it. Unfortunately nerves prevailed for the dentist and I did not pay attention to anything ...

Not bad, for now ...

The visit to the dentist itself was not that bad for me now, in the sense that it was STILL not scary, pictures were taken, and I had a conversation. The result was positive on one side, unfortunately not on the other. I am blessed with strong teeth, without cavities ... but unfortunately periodontal disease, which really requires a treatment process, so my health insurance has to decide whether that will be reimbursed. I don't even want to think about what to do if the decision is going to be negative. So for now I just assume that it will be reimbursed, then I have good hope that it will all work out.

A lot of waiting

During the time that I was inside, take X-ray photos and waiting, waiting, waiting and finally the conversation… my partner and Skipper went to a nearby forest to stretch their legs and paws together. They had a nice walk together. And especially for me (so that I could write a blog), my partner took a picture of a tower building that they suddenly encountered in the woods. Because other people arrived with dogs, my partner no longer took a closer look. Because as you can see in the picture, there was still enough snow in the woods, his feet had wet due to the snow, and he wasn't standing too firmly on his crocs in the slippery snow.

In that respect, we were glad that most of the snow had melted away due to the higher temperatures, because if the appointment had been 1 week earlier, we would not even have made it due to the weather conditions.

The rest of the week

So that was last Tuesday. On Wednesday I got back behind my PC… to start trading, because at least 400 euros will have to be paid anyway. With this new setback, I had to decide to give up my goal. I will never be able to have 1000 euros in July, unfortunately I will have to pay at least 400 euros before then.

I have a fairly level-headed attitude myself, and of course I try what I can… but if I need it, I need it. And then I take it too. Too bad that I will unfortunately say goodbye to the bulls early on, and not be able to take the maximum profits, because as far as I understand and can… we are still early in the bull market. And this Bitcoin cycle could certainly continue until next year. Somehow I hope that too, of course, because that would mean that I can still build up a few things BEFORE the bears strike again, and we are in a downward trend again with small upward movements for four years.

On with new plans!

Anyway… then came Thursday. Not much special, and then Friday. Almost weekend… and suddenly unexpectedly the package deliverer at the door. And it came to bring something that we had both been looking forward to. Because that symbolizes the beginning of our idea. The beginning that we hope will help my partner work towards saying goodbye to the job he has now, that job that is destroying him spiritually.

Step 1 in our project

Our garden shed was delivered. A garden shed? Yes, a garden shed! And that garden shed will become a small workshop. There will be a wood lathe in it. We don't have the wood lathe yet. No, we first had to have a place to place the wood lathe of course. And that was delivered last Friday. But yes, of course it came in package form, so that meant, we had work to do!

Yesterday and today we have been busy putting together the garden shed together. And we had already read reviews from people who said that the drawing was unclear, that it was difficult to put together and so on ... Anyway, we all know that people like to complain, and that not everyone is handy with DIY jobs and kits, that is also a well-known fact. At the moment I can only say that we think it is not the smartest system that has been devised, but that we could put it together fairly easily. Some things totally illogical, some things we would rather have seen differently such as the chipboard roof which then had to be covered with tar paper. But on the other hand, it is of course also true that we could not expect top quality for the budget we had to spend.

Not completely finished

We still have to put the window in, and the door has yet to be hung. But time was up for this weekend. The dogs still had to be let out and well ... since my partner will unfortunately have to go back to work tomorrow, we still wanted to enjoy an evening. The weekends are way too short anyway.

If we had chosen to build our own garden shed it would have been bigger, and much stronger. But then we would certainly have had to pay a lot more for the wood alone… and we would have been busy much longer than a weekend. Who knows if our plan should work out as we hope it will, who knows, we may be building a larger summerhouse ourselves next year.

On to Step 2!

So the next part is to prepare the garden house so that the wood lathe can be bought as soon as possible and then the next adventure begins. The ideas we have been turning into actual products ...
