Blonde arrives at Polygon
New day, new possibilities
Then you wake up in the morning with the feeling that something is about to happen. And 10 seconds later you get a ping. DM in discord. Ah, a message with a tip about an interesting farm on Polygon. And somewhere in my sleepy brain a bell started ringing… somewhere I already had the idea that this could turn out to be a more difficult issue than I suspected at first.
Yes I know, the APY is not going to stay
However, since I still had Matic on Binance it was worth taking a closer look at the farm, and a very attractive APY of over 7000%. But … that's not the only thing I found attractive about this farm. You can compare this one with Cubdefi Kingdoms. And the Kingdoms I love too.
It took me some effort to get here
Now I'm really not 100% familiar with this farm that I can tell you all the ins and outs. And that was not my intention at all. Because the first thing I wanted to talk about was sharing my story about my adventure on the way, to be able to start farming. The effort it took me.
Not a Piece of Cake for me
Damn it wasn't that easy. I had read many blogs, and for everyone it seems to have really been “Piece of Cake”. In other words, very easy. However, that is not my experience at all… And it was not just arranged. On the contrary, it took me a whole morning to get to the point where I could finally put my LP in the farm.
# Ready for a blonde's story?
Blondje still had Matic on Binance which she did nothing with at that time. And Blondje thought that it could be attractive to do something with those coins. The DM I got on discord confirmed my suspicion that TODAY was the day that was going to happen. Just very different than I thought. To start with, I already saw that Bitcoin was falling again, now it was of course not the biggest drama. We all knew that there had to be a retest of Bitcoin where the previous resistance as support will be tested. Hopefully this support level will keep…
Well, I digress again. So I had read the message about the farm and I needed USDC for that. Now that wasn't such a problem, and when I saw the APY of the farm I decided to sell my Matic.
Bridges ...
Before I just sold, I looked for info on whether I could send MATIC directly from Binance to the Polygon blockchain. That is unfortunately not possible. A shortcoming of Binance? I could send it to the Smart Chain, but then I might as well have Swap costs. And bridging from Matic to Polygon wasn't that easy either, so I decided to just sell my Matic via Binance to USDC, although that didn't happen all at once. Now this blonde had already looked a bit further, and found a bridge that was attractive in terms of fees, and this one could bridge my USDT to the Polygon Blockchain. I THOUGHT… That turned out to be something else. The bridge I found didn't work as smoothly as I'd hoped. There was not enough liquidity available. So that joke fell through. The next bridge I found could only play USDC bridges. Finally, due to lack of time at that point, I sent my USDT back to Binance again. Thank God the fees in the Smart Chain aren't too high either. But still… it probably illustrates that this blonde wasn't awake yet, and then wants to start new things right away. Not a good combination as it turned out!
Let's first walk the dogs
When the USDT landed on Binance again, and so I had some peace of mind as far as that part was concerned… I went for a walk with the dogs. And I could think of my next step.
Ah, right… Binance has a few USDT / USDC… so this time, I actually bought USDC, and sent it to the Binance Smart Chain again. Yes, now I was back at the point where I had to play with the bridge. And this time I went to the found bridge that the USDC was going to send across the bridge for me. From the Binance Smart Chain, to the Polygon Blockchain. Exciting!
Although I was of course already familiar with sending LEO, to get bLEO back, I suddenly thought this was a big step that I was going to take. And I also seriously spent 5 minutes staring at my screen to see if I had done everything right. Though there was little to do wrong. It was not more than filling in how much USDC I wanted to bridge. Checking whether I wanted to bridge from BSC to Polygon ... and that was already filled in correctly. Well okay, here we go then. Hoping for the best! Because I wasn't quite sure yet, I first tried it with the minimum amount of 50 USDC. When that went well, and was also arranged quickly, I dared to send the bigger amount! Thank you EVODEFI!.
Hmmm that was not that hard at all
Well, now that I succeeded … and in hindsight it wasn't that difficult of course, now I could finally go to the farm of my choice! But for that I first had to do a swap on QuickSwap. And that's where it started... QuickSwap was totally uncooperative. It was offline! And I had to be there! I kept trying, and eventually I got through it and was able to do my swap, that was arranged in no time… Obtaining the LP tokens was also a piece of cake. Yes, thanks to Cubdefi I learned how to handle that one!
Almost there
So I thought I could easily do the last step, withdrawing my LP tokens. But, here came the biggest problem. I had NO MATIC in my wallet. Yes well I can't lie, I did have some MATIC in my wallet, but it wasn't enough to pay the transaction fees at that time. And there I was, because how did I get matic? It's not just a matter of buying 1 or 2 Matic on Binance and send them over.
Matic Faucet
There is a website where you can get 0.005 Matic in your Metamask wallet, it's called MATIC.SUPPLY, but only if your balance is really 0 Matic. Yup, really ZERO! And blonde still had some leftover Matic in her wallet from the transactions. One thing you should know is that when you use Evodefi, for every bridge transaction you make, you immediately get a tiny bit of MATIC.
And if I had now adjusted the gas fees in Metamask, I would still have had enough to pay the transaction of stopping my LP power.
But I didn't know that then..., or well, maybe I was just being blonde
Now it was a problem to get Matic. And my blond brain was busy with that for quite a while. But luckily, the same person who initially gave me the idea for this farm, eventually sneaked into my DM again. And he asked if it had all worked out. To which I could answer that I had come a long way, only that I had no Matic left to really stop my LP. And as you can probably understand, that was arranged quickly, and in the end I succeeded…
I did it!
With the necessary setbacks, transactions that took a very long time before I received confirmation from Metamask, websites that were offline, transactions that failed etc ... My blond brain has been tested quite a bit, but it turned out okay.
# And now, it's totally the seaon, farm life has started again! But this time I expanded my farm land.
