Feeling Electrified, Shocked and Ashamed

It took me a while to put into words what happened to me again in my newfound @splinterlands enthusiasm. I was too ashamed, and really had to recover from the Electric shock I gave myself.

We all know of course that it is a #play2earn game, and that there are many ways to earn crypto in Splinterlands. But did you know that it is also possible to lose very quickly?

Yes, of course I have to nuance it a bit, because in reality there isn't that much lost … except that with a simple click of my mouse, I cut myself quite a bit on the SPS airdrop, and now I do have more collection power, but in a way that doesn't help me! So you get the feeling, It feels as if I have really LOST a lot! I feel a bit electrified actually… Lol!

Now of course you're wondering what the hell am I talking about?

Don't worry, I'll tell you that in a few lines. This isn't going to be a long post, it just went way too fast for that.

The recipe to get the same thing I did...

- Save up your dec for like an eternity to collect a nice amount so that this SPS airdrop does not completely pass you by as is usually the case
- Then you think you've finally managed to buy 100 packs in the pre-sale for the first time in the game without too much juggling with your money
- Then you get a shock because the Vouchers come along, and you have to change your strategy
- You decide to buy cards to at least get your account back in silver, so you can have dec again from reward loot chests, and some cards for the rental market, and maybe sell the vouchers you get

So far it was completely clear what I was going to do.

It's just a shame that I went to do that early in the morning, and obviously wasn't awake yet when I started my shopping spree.

With just 2 clicks of my mouse, my dec balance was halved and I had spent a whopping $952 on two cards. Oops, what happened. I stared at my screen in shock…

I only bought two cards, one for $6.5, and one for $7.5! I was wrong in that assumption… looking at my transactions quickly, and there I saw my MEGA BLONDE MISTAKES.

Instead of the level 1 cards I thought I was buying, I bought a level 7 and a level 8 card. Ouch!

I didn't mean this when I went on a shopping spree

Now of course you think, what's the problem with this? Well, the problem is that these two cards don't really help me at all. Except that they have value on the blockchain, I can't play them myself because my account is really at bronze level… Of course I also cut myself hard in terms of airdrop. Because even if you now have some collection points ... You don't just replace about 60K Dec with collection points. And the worst thing is that I still haven't expanded my own account with all the nice cards that I would have liked to buy.

So TODAY'S PRO TIP ...

Never go on a shopping spree until you are fully awake and do not pay attention to the price because you are under the assumption that you are buying cheap tickets. It can be very expensive for you.

What then?

The tactics must of course be changed again.

I've just started sending my leftover Dec to Hive-Engine so I can't make such an expensive mistake again. The second is, that I put both cards in the rental market, but, … that gives me only 98 dec per day. Dang, that will take some years to earn them back!

Then the vouchers… I can't get enough to buy at least 100 packs, so I'm still thinking about what to do for this too.

And furthermore, it is keeping an eye on the prices of the tickets, and as soon as I see a good moment, I will sell them again. Because unfortunately for these two cards, I don't feel called to remain their owner. I can't play them myself anyway, and they really don't give me enough to keep them for the rental market...

Expensive Lesson learned!

And time to start working hard again on other things where I can't make expensive mistakes. LOL

Oh yes, you are curious which cards I bought?

Don't laugh at me guys ...

A level 7 ELECTRIC EELS...I wanted to buy a level 1 or level 2 A level 8 VERA SALACIA ... I wanted to buy a level 1

How could this happen, a misclick of my mouse, a not awake brain and therefore the cards selected at the lowest BCX price instead of lowest level!

Shame on me…

But now you see, you can feel like a kid in a candy store when it comes to splinterlands cards.

I would love to hear if you made such stupid mistakes too. Shared sorrow is half sorrow after all!

If you are not in Splinterlands but want to get in want to get in, feel free to use my ref link, I can maybe delegate you some extra cards for the first weeks
