I am sure that you've either seen some of my previous posts or seen others talking about engagement and how important it is to make comments. The daily @leomarkettalk posts are awesome to boost our overall numbers and I have my own on-going "contest" as well for the sake of boosting engagement.

Earlier today I wrote "Stop Being Short-Sighted & Add Value Right Now!", which is another article about engagement and how important it is. It's basically a call-to-action, as I want more people to step up their game and focus on things that we actually can change and improve with ease. It takes seconds for most people to write a comment. I usually work for about 50-60 hours per week and I could still make almost 200 comments in a week, so I'm sure that everyone can make at least 10 comments per day, if they tried..

Like I said before, I truly believe that engagement is the first stepping stone towards growth and I believe that we can push Hive towards new heights with engagement alone.

I talked about this in a previous article: "How To Push Hive To $10"

That being said, I am constantly thinking of ways to improve and grow. I think about ways of "giving back" to the community and I am eager to boost engagement. I want to bring back #initiative10, which was a super-successful initiative that a lot of people was satisfied with.

We had a bunch of users curating comments and large stakeholders spread hundreds of votes across the entire comment sections on a lot of content on Hive. Dozens of people earned more by making comments compared to publishing articles and it was "good vibes" everywhere.

We had a really good run and eventually things pretty much moved over to the @leomarkettalk posts to stimulate engagement. Those posts are getting the most comments day after day, so we're having a ton of success with them.. But, I want to move some of that engagement elsewhere.

So, I came up with my "contest" I mentioned previously, a small attempt to boost the overall engagement on my own posts for starters. (People have a chance of earning LEO for making comments.)

However, while I still will be doing this, I came up with something else I want to change. As we are trying to set a new standard and we're trying to show people that engagement actually matters..

  • Change is inevitable.

I have 3250 LEO and my 100% upvote is worth ~0.300 LEO. Unfortunately, I have literally crushed my voting power recently so I have to recharge it for a bit.. When I am sitting at 100% voting power again, I will do some changes though. I will start to curate comments instead of articles.

Well, I will curate articles too, but I will focus more on rewarding those who make comments. And that goes for comments all over the place and not only on my posts. Those who are putting in time and effort to boost engagement deserves to be rewarded for their efforts. Engagement is rewarding in many ways, but it should- and will be rewarded as well!

From today, I will recharge my voting power and prioritize comments over articles when I curate. That is my way of encouraging others to participate, step up their game and comment our way towards new heights.

I wish my votes where worth more so I could reward those who puts in time accordingly, but everything adds up eventually and the truth is that making a comment is often far easier than writing an entire article.
