I have been talking a lot about engagement lately and I do various things in an attempt to increase the overall engagement, boosting the numbers and to set a new standard on this social platform.

I have recently announced that I am giving away a total of 25 LEO per week and I know there are people out there who doesn't believe in this approach, and that's basically the reason for this post. I want to shed some light on some things and I will talk more in-depth about my reasons for doing the things I do.

Let's start with the fact that I am, have always been and will forever be a giver. I am a sucker for charity & goodwill and I truly believe in the pay-it-forward mentality. Karma is another thing I believe in, and that fits perfectly in this whole thing as well.

One question I've been getting, and something I have thought about several times as well is this:

  • Is it good to give away 25 LEO per week, straight from my own pockets, just to boost the numbers a bit in terms of comments or is there a better way of doing things?

The truth is that I would've loved to keep the tokens for myself, as those tokens are coming from my stake which basically means that I am not growing as quickly as I could.. But, I am grateful for the support I have, the opportunity and the awesome community so I want to pay it forward, as that is simply put the best thing I can do to give something back.

As I do the things I do in an attempt of bringing more attention towards real & active engagement which reflects a healthy and thriving platform. The long haul goal is to take some of the awesome amount of engagement from the daily posts from @leomarkettalk and push some of that elsewhere instead, because we are in desperate need of real engagement.

We need to attract outsiders and comments are vital to look healthy and active. Those people who still doesn't seem capable of understanding that a social platform must be social are just putting their heads in the sand. They are waiting for a miracle to happen instead of doing something.

A comment per day is extremely easy to do. Ten (10) comments per day are more difficult, but it's doable if you want Hive & LeoFinance to succeed. Anything more than 10 would be awesome. If you are active and consuming content on a daily basis, take a minute and write a meaningful comment on every third article you read or whatever. Find a good system that works for you. Each comment makes a difference in the long haul, and that is what literally everyone is claiming to be here for.

The LEO I give away is coming from my contributions. I contribute and I am being rewarded for my contributions. What I do with my stake and my rewards is entirely up to me, but I am giving something back because I want us to succeed. I am trying to pave the way for others..

  • I am trying to set a new standard.

I want people to understand how important engagement is and I don't mind paying people for comments. You see, what I want from all of this is simply to change people's behaviour and approach. I hope that some of the people who are active and making comments on my content, within the LeoFinance Engagement League or within the @leomarkettalk posts will look outside of these places shortly so they engage and make comments elsewhere. I want this to spread like wildfire and if that means that I have to "pay people" for a while, I'm okay with that.

We need to socialize on a social platform for that platform to look active. It's that simple. Without comments it looks inactive, stagnant or even dying..

  • And that is far from what we want!

With the new hardfork, I am sure we will see comments be rewarded more often and comments on LeoFinance is already being rewarded frequently. From all types of users. From the smallest cub to Toruk. We've seen upvotes across the community for a long period of time.

It's time to step up your game and take a piece of the pie. Set a goal of 5 comments per day if you haven't been making comments for a while. Ten comments per day if you're more active. Everything adds up over time and the most important part is to look like an active, helpful and healthy community.

That's how we will see green numbers on the charts while other cryptos are dropping like dead flies. We can comment our way to the top, so why shouldn't we?

Comments will take us to the next level, but a lot of people aren't willing to put in the effort. They seem to believe that everything will be fine sooner or later. I figured that most people should know better by now..

  • Everyone should know that a social platform must be social to succeed.
