Where Will We Be In A Year?

I have published reports of keywords that brings the most organic traffic to LeoFinance for a couple of weeks now and in the most recent one, @taskmaster4450le asked me a question:

Can you imagine where we will be in a year if we keep this up?

I am a firm believer in organic traffic and search engine optimization, and I can clearly see the potential, but I haven't really thought about it in such a "specific manner" yet. What I mean by that is that all SEO-related things we've seen lately is new. We haven't seen that in the past. We haven't seen optimized content and people eager to improve rankings in attempts to bring more organic traffic. We have never seen anything like this before, even though some have always been believers.. Everything is new and fresh.

We are moving mountains though, and we're doing it quickly.

So in just 3 weeks, we got 135 new keywords. That's 135 more keywords that will come up in the search results when people are searching for things on Google and other search engines. That's 135 new keywords that will bring traffic to LeoFinance. 135 new keywords in 3 weeks..

The truth is that there are a limited amount of words in existence and each word has a different KD (Keyword difficulty), so you can't expect to see such great results each time. It would also be impossible to rank content for each word that exists. We want to focus on some of the keywords, so we can bring traffic towards LeoFinance, Hive and other tribes for years to come.

Long-tail keywords makes things easier. They are easier to rank. Easy to rank also means less search volume, hence less traffic, but it's a superb start. We want to rank as many keywords as possible, but we can forget about trying to rank an article about bitcoin for instance, if we are trying to rank the article for the keyword "bitcoin".

Another way of doing things would be, "the best cryptos to invest in", and talk about bitcoin and how awesome it is. I haven't looked at the search volume for that phrase though, but you get the idea. You can "work around" the actual keywords and still get good rankings and generate a lot of traffic over time.

  • That's a different story though.

What I haven't included within the weekly reports I have published is the actual amount of traffic, or the number of users expected to visit the website in the following month on condition that average monthly organic traffic stays relatively the same.

I purposely left that out of the reports because it doesn't mean much for now. More importantly, at least to me, is to see the keyword progress and the organic traffic % we get.

However, I could include the expected number of users as well and 65 was the expected amount of users last week. According to the latest report, it's up to 116. That's the expected amount of users, based on the current rankings and current traffic we have seen. It's also based upon the top 10 keywords. (This is users and not page views)

We obviously want more people than this, but it's a work in progress. Just imagine 116 new people coming to LeoFinance in a month, just because they made a search on Google. That's actually pretty insane if you think about it..

  • Imagine 2 months from now, 6 months or a year..

Let's Think About 1 Year From Now..

If we think about the people you have brought to Hive. Your friends, family members and whatever. I think that most of you have tried to bring a handful of people. Some of you have done a tremendous job and you've brought dozens of people here over the years, but my best guess is that the majority of the people on Hive has brought roughly 10 people or so. In total.

  • We won't talk about them being active or not.

With optimized content and with the current progress we have, we can expect more than 100 people in the following month. You don't have to convince them to join. You don't have to find them or talk with them.. There's no need for an elevator-pitch of any kind. They come to LeoFinance because they have found the place themselves. They search for content and LeoFinance is here to meet them.

For instance, let's say that User X is searching for a way to earn $50 extra per month. He stumbles upon an article from LeoFinance. The LeoFinance article gives him in-depth information on how User A managed to earn $100 in a month, on LeoFinance, just by sharing content.

  • Do you think User X will be interested to find out more?

We have the content he searched for. We are the place he needs and we literally give him all the tools he needs to achieve his goal. I think it's rather safe to say that he will be our next Lion.

You don't have to talk about LeoFinance or how to earn money on Hive.. LeoFinance is about crypto & finance so you can easily talk about bitcoin or other tokens. What matters is that people find your content.

  • Are you more interested in YouTubers and you want them on board?

3speak is a superb option for them, but you are not likely to get them to join because you tweet about owning your own content or being decentralized.

You are far more likely to get those people interested by the use of your own content. Optimized content that they find when they are searching for YouTube-alternatives on Google.

I can go on and on about this, but Twitter is not the solution you’re looking for in terms of mass adoption. You need search engines, because you need the organic traffic. People want to find information for themselves instead of having things forced down their throats.

Organic traffic is what leads to mass adoption. Twitter and other social media is just extra tools we can benefit from while we are moving forward.

I still haven't answered the question. That was the whole purpose of this post. I was just going to answer a simple question, but it turns out I had other things to say.. As usual.

I understand that you are tired by now. People don't like wall of texts, but I'll do my very best to answer the question now. This time I'll make it:

With all of these things being said, I believe we will see roughly 500-600 visitors per month one year from now, if we have the same progress. All from organic traffic. It's impossible to know, but I base that upon our current progress and what I personally think will happen. I mean, we are still young and we have just started this whole SEO-thing. SEO takes time as well. It takes time to learn and it takes time to get final rankings.

We could see 2x or 3x that amount, but I am trying to be realistic. In fact, we could probably see 1000+ visitors per month rather easily, but it requires a bit more team work. We just need to support each other more on social media. We need to retweet and tweet articles out there to improve rankings further. Each like, retweet and share holds some weight and each of them are important.

So yeah, there you have it.

  • 1K new people per month is within reach.
