Hive Today is a weekly newsletter for the decentralized Hive network. Hive is a blockchain-based social app platform. This newsletter provides a summary of Hive apps and games development news. Thank you for reading and sharing.

We are getting closer to code freeze for Hive Hard Fork 25. I wanted to quickly recap the major changes we expect to see in this release. @edicted provides a great summary here. Content upvote mechanics are changing significantly to encourage manual voting; curation rewards will become near-linear. A new operation will be added for converting Hive to HBD, to help with downward pressure and stabilize HBD's peg. And there's a popular idea from @blocktrades to create a higher interest rate for HBD stored in "savings". This last one may or may not sneak into HF25.

This Week in Hive-Powered dApps, Tribes, & Tokens

Hive powers a growing number of decentralized apps (dApps). Since they all run on the same chain, one Hive account can access every app. Here's a quick summary of the Hive app landscape.

LeoFinance Updates on Cub Finance, Security Audit, and LeoBridge

This week LeoFinance shared some updates on Cub Finance and the upcoming LeoBridge product. The total value locked in Cub dens and farms has risen to $20,000,000 USD. LeoBridge is an ambitious project to link Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum Chain. The project has been in work for weeks, and the team is trying to release it before May. Lastly, smart contract security auditor CertiK released a report for CubDefi.

NFTShowroom Shares Onboarding Stats

NFTShowroom shared some onboarding stats this week. They have onboarded more than 1,000 artists to Hive. And total of 6990 pieces of NFT art have been sold. Amazing!

PeakD Releases Shorthands and BeeChat Improvements

This week PeakD made some UI updates. Badges, communities, and topics are now displayed using shorthand notations. For example, the announcement post shows a label "C/ About PeakD" indicating it was posted in the "About PeakD" community. BeeChat in PeakD also received some upgrades. Group chat moderators can now easily remove members, and all users can more easily remove friends. A handful of other small updates were included.

Hive is home to a growing number of blockchain games. Here's a quick summary of updates for Hive games.

dCity Announces Launch Dates for 3rd Edition

dCity is an NFT-based city-builder game. The team announced a big update coming later this April. A refreshed UI will start rolling out on April 21st. And by May 1st, the 3rd edition of dCity cards will be available to all players.

Rising Star Launches Music Promoter

Rising Star, the band-manager game, launched a new Music Promoter feature this week. This feature lets players bid on different gigs (missions) and earn a share of a daily STARPRO token pot. STARPRO tokens can be spent in-game for things like immediately finishing missions (no timer).
