Oh man, this season was hard in so many different ways. Competition has been tough in the past seasons but this one was even tougher. I've tried to reduce my expenses with rentals in this season, and I'm probably going to reduce even more in the one starting now, and that increases even more the difficulty of remaining at the top.

Let's see how that is reflected in my Performance first.

Match Report

Ratio (Win/Loss)0.95 (259/274)
Tournament Ratio (Win/Loss+Draw)1.49 (88/59/0)

I ranked down from Rank #95 with a 4232 rating to the rank #108 with 4216, while my Ratio has gone down by 0.1 points. My tournament ratio has remained quite high, although lower than last season too, but considering that I've played a lot more tournaments, and some a lot more relevant this season that's a very good result.

To put my performance into perspective, let me say that I've played the whole season using only the Dragon and Death Splinters, and that pretty much every battle that didn't have one of them is a loss. That makes my 0.95 ratio a very satisfactory one to my mind, and although I still can improve it I don't think it can get any higher without more cards to play with.

Let's keep going.

The Adamant Coin result was one that came quite unexpected to me. A silver league tournament that I had no intention of winning anything, and I was very happy to make it to the top 10.

The absolute highlight of my season was the 10th place at the Stache Classic, qualifying for the Diamond League Play-offs tomorrow, September 18th.

Winnings in terms of DEC, SPS or any other asset was very negligible, and I hope that within three to five months I'll improve on that front, where I expect to fight for a placement at the top.

My luck does not change very much with time, and I haven't gained anything especial in the reward chests nor the season end rewards. We keep focusing on the results and eventually we'll all be rewarded for our efforts!

Earnings were 34.6k DEC total. Was that enough to pay for my rentals?

Well, it's easy to see that the screaming answer is a hard NO.

Net Loss from rentals were 49.1K DEC, resulting in a 14.5K DEC loss in the season.

The real question now is was it worth?

I don't know for sure, but it seems that it was not to be honest. Reaching Champion II, I gain ~5000 airdrop points, which will give me some SPS during the whole year. How much that will be is impossible to calculate since SPS value won't be stable for a while, and the amount of airdrop gained by it is literally impossible to calculate. My opinion is that overall it should pay off in terms of money itself, but I can't really agree with that simplistic view. The cheer amount of time that such a performance demands, the attention, and the waiting time for that to bloom into profit is just too much to say that the Loss was worth.

Will I change my strategy in the next seasons then? I don't think so, but we'll see. This season that has just started has been blessed with the new reward cards, and that is a great incentive to remain at the top leagues since you gain a lot more daily chests than the rest of the leagues. I do believe that those cards will be worth a lot of money in the future, and that would be a great way to invest my future losses. I have diminish my cards rentals as well, and I'm trying to focusing on renting inexpensive, effective and versatile cards that can be played in a lot of rule sets. That being said, well, it is a lot easier said than done. I'll focus on maintaining a ratio of approximately 1.00, and maybe that will pay off big time. We'll have to see for sure on the next report. I don't discard at all the possibility that I'm wrong, and my losses overcomes my winnings at the end of the season.

We'll have to wait and see it!

My SPS airdrops have been again a blessing, and I'm stacking as much as humanly possible within the restraints that I have. Chaos Legion is a very big event to me, and SPS is an asset that I truly believe in long term. Utility has not even truly began, there's so much room to grow.
