Yesterday I read a post by @mistakili referring to one of the current fashion topics, I mean Artificial Intelligence. If you haven't read it and are interested in that topic, I leave you the link Here.

At first, I thought of writing all the feelings that your post gave me in a comment, but then I realized that it would be too long and I decided to write my own post about it. I just left you a short comment; I like, within my possibilities, to comment on some publications of my interest that are well written and argued or that leave questions for us to think about and propose. Unfortunately, time is a tyrant and I can't read or comment as much as I want, HP is also a tyrant and I can't vote for everyone I want either.

In the first paragraphs of reading the publication I imagined all those who have studied arts or design for years and years, who have perfected their techniques, who have embraced the career with love and talent, surely they should not be happy with the answer that the AI is giving to anyone who wants or needs a certain graph. On this subject, I remember reading a few days ago that a winery here used AI to design the label for its premium wine, the result is surprising.

Similarly, programmers should not feel happy that anyone without knowledge of the intricate labyrinths of computers and their codes can achieve a well-structured and functional algorithm in any programming language and adapt to the requested needs. Something on this topic I published an article a few days ago where I mentioned the irony of the scenario, the AI will most likely end up replacing many of those who helped create it.

Architects and engineers must be thinking that it is only a matter of time before AI can design buildings, houses, and offices, as much or better than the outputs of the best drawing boards of the most renowned builders.

Thus we could continue with examples of all kinds, some real and others imaginary for now but achievable in time, in fact, I must suppose that not even the most lucid and brilliant mind of today can imagine the future that AI holds for us.

In this context, one of the first issues that @mistakili highlights is the existence of a kind of war against this monster engendered by people and the current structures of human knowledge.

It is a war lost before it began, we have already seen it countless times in other issues of technological advances that always end up being imposed, I remember at this moment the Uber issue and how taxi drivers everywhere made huge demonstrations, strikes, and a significant number of scenes of savagery to finish at the moment working many of them with that and other similar applications.

Going further back in time, we had fierce fights and massive demonstrations at the time of the industrial revolution, when people panicked at the thought that machines would put them out of work. It was true in part, but as always, new needs created new jobs and what was thought to be a disaster of unemployment and misery finally did not happen. I suspect that we are facing a new event with similar characteristics.

The proofs and examples are overwhelming, enough to mention them all here and now.

As the author of the original note said after all the problem is not in the AI but in the people, their thoughts, needs, fears, and clearly the ambition that reigns in the hearts of many.

Understanding the scope of this new technology is overwhelming, we do not understand it, and as @mistakili said in his reply to my comment: "we are simply not prepared and it is very human not to understand what is feared".

IA tan temida como desconocida

En el día de ayer leí una publicación de @mistakili referida a uno de los temas de moda de la actualidad, me refiero a la Inteligencia Artificial. Si no lo leyeron y les interesa esa temática, les dejo el link Aquí.

En un principio pensé en escribir todas las sensaciones que me daba su publicación en un comentario, luego me di cuenta que sería demasiado extenso y decidí escribir mi propia publicación al respecto. Solo le dejé un comentario corto; me gusta, dentro de mis posibilidades, comentar algunas publicaciones de mi interés que están bien escritas y argumentadas o que dejan interrogantes para que pensemos y propongamos. Lamentablemente el tiempo es tirano y no puedo leer ni comentar todo lo que quisiera, también el HP es tirano y tampoco puedo votar a todos los que quisiera.

En los primero párrafos de la lectura de la publicación Imaginé a todos aquellos que han estudiado artes o diseño por años y años, que han perfeccionado sus técnicas, que han abrazado la carrera con amor y talento, seguramente ellos no deben estar contentos de la respuesta que la IA está dando a cualquier persona que desee o necesite una gráfica determinada. Sobre ese tema recuerdo haber leído pocos días atrás que una bodega de aquí utilizó la IA para diseñar la etiqueta de su vino de primera calidad, el resultado es sorprendente.

En similar sintonía, los programadores tampoco se deben sentir felices de que cualquier persona sin conocimientos sobre los intrincados laberintos de las computadoras y sus códigos pueda lograr un algoritmo bien estructurado y funcional en cualquier lenguaje de programación y adaptado a las necesidades solicitadas. Algo sobre este tema publiqué unos días atrás un artículo donde mencionaba lo irónico del escenario, la IA muy probablemente terminará reemplazando a muchos de aquellos que ayudaron a crearla.

Arquitectos e ingenieros deben estar pensando en que es solo una cuestión de tiempo que la IA pueda diseñar edificios, casas, oficinas, tanto o mejores que las salidas de los mejores tableros de dibujo de los constructores más reconocidos.

Así podríamos continuar con ejemplos de todo tipo, algunos reales y otros imaginarios por ahora pero alcanzables en el tiempo, de hecho debo suponer que ni siquiera la mente más lúcida y brillante de la actualidad pueda imaginar el futuro que nos depara la IA.

En este contexto una de las primeras cuestiones que destaca @mistakili es la existencia de una especie de guerra contra ese monstruo engendrado por las personas y las estructuras actuales del conocimiento humano.

Es una guerra perdida antes de comenzar, ya lo hemos visto infinidad de veces en otras cuestiones de avances tecnológicos que siempre terminan imponiéndose, recuerdo en estos momentos el tema Uber y como los taxistas en todas partes hicieron enormes manifestaciones, paros y un número importante de escenas de salvajismo para terminar en estos momentos trabajando muchos de ellos con esa y otras aplicaciones similares.

Yendo más atrás en el tiempo tuvimos encarnizadas peleas y multitudinarias manifestaciones en época de la revolución industrial, cuando las personas entraron en pánico al pensar que las máquinas los dejarían sin trabajo. Fue cierto en parte, pero como siempre, nuevas necesidades crearon nuevos empleos y lo que se pensaba un desastre de desocupación y miseria finalmente no ocurrió, sospecho que estamos ante un nuevo evento de similares características.

Las pruebas y los ejemplos son abrumadores, tanto como mencionarlas a todas aquí y ahora.

Como dijo el autor de la nota original, después de todo el problema no es en la IA sino las personas, sus pensamientos, necesidades, miedos y claramente la ambición que reina en el corazón de muchos.

Entender el alcance de esta nueva tecnología abruma, no la comprendemos y como @mistakili dijo en su contestación a mi comentario: simplemente no estamos preparados y es muy humano no entender lo que se teme.
