Vitalik Buterin has been here in Argentina for a week, I have already written a couple of notes about it, now the creator of Algorand, Silvio Micali, has also been added.

The creator of Ethereum is known to everyone, but not so much Micali, although he has enormous merits such as being a professor of computer science at MIT or having won the Turing prize for his outstanding work in research and dissemination of the theory. and computing practice, in 2019 he devised and developed the blockchain-based Algorand network with the aim of improving the efficiency and speed of cryptocurrency transactions.

At the time I commented on some of the reasons that prompted the Russian-Canadian Buterin to come to this distant country full of economic and social problems, you can read my previous publications about it. However, the answer that Micali offered when questioned about the reasons for his visit was surprising due to its forcefulness. He said the following: (SIC) “... One out of every three great ideas we receive comes from Argentina, I wanted to see what the hell is going on in this country! ... "

One of the projects that Micali supports is Agrotoken, which I also spoke about some time ago, this project aims to tokenize the assets of agricultural producers such as wheat, corn, and soybean crops to later be able to sell them at the time they want and at small or large quantities since it is possible to divide each token that represents the value of one ton in up to 10,000 parts.

The Agrotoken company represents a great opportunity for the Argentine countryside and why not also for other countries that wish to join the platform. This week in an investment round, the project raised another $ 5 million that will be used to take it to the United States, Brazil, and Paraguay.

Meanwhile, Buterin supports another national project called "Proof of Humanity" which is based on the Ethereum blockchain; Designed by the programmer Santiago Siri, it enables anyone to validate his identity and receive in exchange a token that he called UBI (Universal Basic Income), with this project it seeks to generate the necessary income to grant a universal basic income. A social and humanitarian idea that aims to help mainly low-income people.

Vitalik when talking about Proof of Humanity mentioned that it is a really important project that can make Ethereum a more inclusive place.

Both have been pleasantly surprised, they did not expect to see such a size of the crypto community or the number of projects and ideas. People are getting more involved every day and that makes it one of the largest communities in the world.

Companies such as Lemon, Buenbit, and Bitso have received more than one hundred million dollars of international financing, which shows the seriousness and good ideas that abound here, all these companies are in international expansion.

Hopefully, this can lead to a recovery of the country, beyond the centralist politicians, predators, and obsolete ideas that have governed us for many years.

Desde hace una semana está aquí en la Argentina Vitalik Buterin, ya he escrito un par de notas sobre ello, ahora también se agregó el creador de Algorand, Silvio Micali.

Al creador de Ethereum lo conoce todo el mundo, pero a Micali no tanto, si bien tiene méritos enormes como el de ser profesor de informática en el MIT o de haber ganado el premio Turing por su destacada labor en la investigación y divulgación de la teoría y práctica de la computación, en 2019 ideó y desarrolló la red Algorand basada en blockchain con el objetivo de mejorar la eficiencia y la velocidad en las transacciones de criptomonedas.

En su momento comenté algunos de los motivos que impulsaron al ruso-canadiense Buterin a venir a este país lejano y lleno de problemas económicos y sociales, pueden leer mis publicaciones anteriores al respecto. Sin embargo, sorprendió por su contundencia la respuesta que Micali ofreció cuando se le interrogó por los motivos de su visita, dijo lo siguiente: (SIC) “...Una de cada tres grandes ideas que recibimos viene de la Argentina, ¡Quería ver qué diablos es lo que pasa en este país! ..."

Uno de los proyectos que apoya Micali es Agrotoken del cual también hablé hace algún tiempo, este proyecto apunta a tokenizar los activos de los productores agropecuarios como por ejemplo las cosechas de trigo, maíz y soja para luego poder venderlas en el momento que deseen y en pequeñas o grandes cantidades ya que es posible dividir cada token que representa el valor de una tonelada en hasta 10.000 partes.

La empresa Agrotoken representa una gran oportunidad para el campo argentino y porqué no también para otros países que deseen sumarse a la plataforma. Esta semana en una ronda de inversiones, el proyecto recaudó otros 5 millones de dólares que será utilizados para llevarlo a Estados Unidos, Brasil y Paraguay.

Mientras tanto Buterin apoya otro proyecto nacional denominado “Proof of Humanity” que se basa en la blockchain de Ethereum; ideado por el programador Santiago Siri posibilita a cualquier persona validar su identidad y recibir a cambio un token al que denominó UBI (Universa Basic Income), con este proyecto se busca generar los ingresos necesarios para otorgar una renta básica universal. Una idea social y humanitaria que apunta a ayudar principalmente a personas de bajos recursos.

Vitalik al hablar de Proof of Humanity mencionó que es un proyecto realmente importante que puede hacer de Ethereum un lugar más inclusivo.

Ambos se han mostrado gratamente sorprendidos, no esperaban ver tal tamaño de comunidad cripto ni la cantidad de proyectos e ideas. Las personas se involucran cada día más y eso hace que sea una de las comunidades más grandes del mundo.

Empresas tales como Lemon, Buenbit y Bitso han recibido más de cien millones de dólares de financiamiento internacional, eso demuestra la seriedad y buenas ideas que abundan por aquí, todas estas empresas están en expansión internacional.

Esperemos que esto pueda llevar una recuperación del país, más allá de los políticos centralistas, depredadores y con ideas obsoletas que nos gobiernan desde hace muchos años.
