Just as Ethereum has an update to its blockchain scheduled in the coming months, Bitcoin will do its own a little later, by the end of 2021, however, the objectives of the improvements are different in the two main networks of the crypto world.

Of course, since Bitcoin is a deflationary project determined by a maximum issuance of twenty-one million tokens, it does not have the problems that affect Ethereum with respect to an uncontrolled issuance, therefore its next soft updates go in another direction, in this case addressing issues related to the security and privacy of your transactions by masking complex operations.

This update is not new as the code has been available for developer testing since October of the previous year; the two most important properties are known as Schnorr and Taproot. The first one will allow the incorporation of multiple keys within a single one, providing the transaction carried out under this new functionality with greater security and reducing the amount and size of the data, which will lead to greater speed and decongestion of the network. The second property, among other characteristics, will work as a backup to the first and will allow users to recover lost assets under certain circumstances, this is great news, although it should still be taken with caution since the scope and protocol needs of it are not known. . However, perhaps the main feature of Taproot is to provide Bitcoin with greater privacy by allowing the user to conceal the method used when carrying out a funds transfer transaction.

A few days ago I published a note about access to cryptocurrency wallets that the US tax agency wants to be implemented to control and regulate transactions, you can read it by clicking Here. I don't know how the agency will take this Bitcoin update, particularly the functionality that Taproot will provide, I don't think they will like it.

To celebrate and endorse these improvements that Bitcoin will offer, Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, invited his followers to visit the official Taproot page in clear support for the privacy and security of today's most important blockchain.
