As in many other orders of life, in the communities, there are cracks that separate two decidedly opposite sides, in many cases these divisions are insurmountable until some planned event or does not create a bridge and the division is lost or at least forgotten for the most.

History is full of facts, often endorsed by blood, of the irreconcilable differences between sectors.

With cryptocurrencies something like this is happening, there are the admirers and the "non-coiners", a denomination that is already treading heavily among those who are totally opposed to the new technology.

For a long time, we have been hearing different reasons for and against BTC, also of other cryptocurrencies, but we will concentrate only on the most important because in general, it summarizes all or at least the vast majority of controversies.

There are myths and legends that sometimes border on fantasy and misinformation, in others, they have enough arguments to be heard. So it is not surprising that specialized sites have appeared on the web for some time now that is responsible for unraveling and refuting these legends. Any debate that takes place on certain grounds trying to inform the public to make their own decisions is welcome, on the other hand, if it is only intended to destroy the occasional enemy by discrediting their sayings it is useless, it only deepens the crack.

I have already written a couple of opportunities about the energy consumption that cryptocurrency mining produces and precisely these days I have read on one of these sites that I mention some refutations on this subject. Going into the data, this site says that although it is true that the generation of BTC consumes a significant amount of polluting electrical energy, it cannot be compared with the creation of Fiat money since for this, the entire structure necessary to its management, that is, issuing entities, control entities, banks, etc. Seen that way, there is probably no adequate comparison. It is also mentioned that much of the energy that BTC mining uses is green, that still needs further verification and as I said a few days ago there is still a long way to go before the electrical energy sources are totally ecological, whether they are for the generation of cryptocurrencies or any other human activity.

The myths and legends about cryptocurrencies are many, one of these sites promises to continue the fight for information and the next myth to attack is that of security, we will have to wait a bit to know data on this topic, which is one of the most worrisome today. In this regard, a news flash indicates that a very important international bank is studying investing in a cryptocurrency security systems company.

The BTC and the blockchain are a disruptive technology of the traditional system, which translates in that many interests that were believed untouchable have been moved to the ground. Since the year of its creation, it has already been presumed dead countless times but not only has it survived everything but is more active than ever. These sites that refute generally ill-intentioned legends will continue with a task I do not know if necessary but surely fun and overcoming until it is no longer necessary to defend it until they themselves become a myth.

Como en muchos otros órdenes de la vida, en las comunidades hay grietas que separan dos bandos decididamente opuestos, en muchos casos esas divisiones son infranqueables hasta que algún evento planificado o no crea un puente y la división se pierde o al menos se olvida para la mayoría.

La historia está llena de hechos, muchas veces refrendado por sangre, de las diferencias irreconciliables entre sectores. Con las criptomonedas está pasando algo así, están los admiradores y los “no coiners”, denominación que ya pisa fuerte entre aquellos que se oponen totalmente a la nueva tecnología.

Desde hace tiempo estamos escuchando diferentes razones a favor y en contra del BTC, también de otras criptomonedas, pero nos concentraremos solo en la más importante porque en general resume todas o al menos la gran mayoría de las controversias.

Hay mitos y leyendas que en ocasiones rayan la fantasía y la desinformación, en otras tienen suficientes argumentos como para ser escuchados. Entonces no es de extrañar que desde hace algún tiempo hayan aparecido en la web sitios especializados que se encargan de desentrañar y refutar esas leyendas. Todo debate que se realiza sobre bases ciertas tratando de informar al público para que tome sus propias decisiones es bienvenido, en cambio si solo se pretende destruir al ocasional enemigo desacreditando sus dicho no sirve para nada, solo profundiza la grieta.

Ya he escrito en un par de oportunidades sobre el consumo de energía que la minería de criptomonedas produce y justamente por estos días he leído en un sitio de estos que menciono algunas refutaciones sobre este tema. Adentrándose en los datos, este sitio dice que si bien es cierto que la generación de BTC consume una importante cantidad de energía eléctrica contaminante, no puede compararse con la creación de dinero Fiat ya que para ello se debería tener en cuenta toda la estructura necesaria para su manejo, es decir entes emisores, entes de control, bancos, etc. Visto de esa manera probablemente no exista una comparación adecuada. También se menciona que mucha de la energía que la minería de BTC utiliza es verde, eso aun necesita una mayor comprobación y como dije hace pocos días aun falta mucho para que las fuentes de energía eléctrica sean totalmente ecológicas, sean para la generación de criptomonedas o cualquier otra actividad humana.

Los mitos y leyendas sobre las criptomonedas son muchos, uno de estos sitios promete continuar la pelea por la información y el próximo mito a atacar es el de la seguridad, tendremos que esperar un poco para conocer datos sobre este tema que es uno de los más preocupantes en la actualidad. Al respecto, una noticia de último momento indica que un muy importante banco internacional está estudiando invertir en una empresa de sistemas de seguridad para criptomonedas.

El BTC y la blockchain son una tecnología disruptiva del sistema tradicional, eso ese traduce en que muchos intereses que se creían intocables han sido movidos hasta los cimientos. Desde el año de su creación ya ha sido dado por muerto infinidad de veces pero no solamente ha sobrevivido a todo sino que se encuentra más activo que nunca. Estos sitios que refutan leyendas generalmente mal intencionadas continuarán con una tarea no se si necesaria pero seguro que divertida y superadora, hasta que no haga falta más defenderlo, hasta que ellos mismos se conviertan en un mito.
