Where to Convert HIVE to Swap.Hive (or Vice Versa)

The seasoned Hivers and traders may already know these but for those who are still learning, I'm going to share some of the places where we can convert $HIVE to Swap.Hive or vice versa (Swap.Hive to $HIVE).

But first, why do we need Swap.Hive?

Swap.Hive is the main exchange currency in the different DEXes in Hive and we need it when we want to buy any of the Hive Engine assets.

Also, when selling HE tokens, these are paid in Swap.Hive which then need to be converted into $HIVE before we can use it to power up for instance. And the applications below are useful and handy.

LeoDex

Simply go to Leodex, and logon to your wallet (Hive account), click on Deposit and a deposit window appears where you will input how many HIVE you wish to exchange for Swap.Hive and then enter. Do note that there's a 0.25% fee when using this service.

And if you are swapping large quantities, you may want to check on the available liquidity though to make sure that LeoDex has enough liquidity to cater to what you need.

My 5 HIVE was converted into 4.988 Swap.Hive which appeared in my HE wallet after a few seconds. It was super fast! The actual fee charged was 0.24% so it was good.

BeeSwap by DCity

To use this, go to BeeSwap.Dcity and connect your account via Keychain. A 0.25% fee will be charged for the swap. The good thing is that BeeSwap has a large liquidity of both $HIVE and Swap.Hive so one can swap large amounts.

Discounted Bridge by @hiveupme

This bridge charges only 0.10% for the transaction which is obviously cheaper than the first two mentioned above.

I didn't pay any fees at all with my transaction today. I swapped 5 HIVE and I was given 5 Swap.Hive

The reason I wasn't charged any transaction fee is because I supplied a little bit liquidity to the lesser side of the bridge (HIVE). When you supply to the side with the lesser balance, you will not only swap for free but also earn rewards (0.075%) instantly.

Obviously, my transacted amount was too small so the reward was insignificant (0.003) but transacting for free and transaction getting done in less than a minute is great.

One thing to note when using this tool or service is that you have to check the available liquidity first because when you are swapping more than the available bridge balance, your transaction will not go through and your funds will be returned instantly to your account/wallet.

HivePaySwap

This was another service which I often used before but it is undergoing maintenance at this time. It charges 0.2% on every swap and the transaction is almost instant too (less than a minute).

There may be other web tools that offer the services of swapping $HIVE to Swap.Hive and vice versa but these are some of those which I have personally tried using.
