Was it about a year ago there was a campaign some had launched to try to get Steemit to merge with TRON? I do recall seeing posts and tweets trying to get the two CEOs together and the tone was mostly in support of the idea. Then it went silent so I figured the two guys couldn't work out a mutually beneficial deal.

Now it's a done deal (details to be fleshed out) and the tone seems decidedly against the acquisition. Is it because originally it was thought there would be more of a coming together of equals rather than one simply buying the assets (controlling interest) of the other?

Well I'm curious to see what develops with the platform. The STEEM blockchain itself is always where I saw the real value. Heck, I'm not posting this on Steemit even now, I'm on Steempeak.

Though the controlling amount of STEEM that comes with Ned's sale does potentially impact the entire chain, forks happen and there is a very active developer base here. Only danger I see is if a fork was forced due to unacceptable changes being forced on the chain by the new dominant STEEM holder, would exchanges support the fork?

I feel no sense of panic whatsoever, but I do strongly hope that what is being developed here gets to keep developing. I truly believe STEEM is the most developed, productively engaged blockchain out there. All it ever lacked was good marketing. Let's hope Sun brings that and only that to the party, and grows the prosperity for everyone.
