When you save crypto what is the reason why you keep it?
Money is been kept for 3 reasons a theory postulated by Lord Keynes. Economists will say it's either for future purposes or immediate use. If money is kept to save some future desire then, is crypto also kept to meet such reason?
Precautionary motive This is one reason why money is been kept just like the word implies it's kept to take precautions against unforeseen dangers or rather circumstances that are beyond human control, it can only be controlled when it surfaces. But the question is can crypto also be kept for such reason keeping and waiting for uncertainties. If you maintain your crypto for reasons not seen having in mind that you will someday use it to take care of eventualities that may occur.
What if you keep the crypto and the eventualities that happened at a critical time of the crypto when I say the critical time I am talking of a time when the value of the crypto is low and the token is not high enough to warrant selling it out to settle issues at the moment. If something like this can happen will we say that crypto can also be kept to tackle precautions?
Source Transactional Motive This is when money is kept for day-to-day dealings that are meeting our daily needs. We exchange value daily to get value in return yes, this is one major reason why money is kept.
On the same ground, I can also say that crypto is kept to meet daily activities even though it's not to meet our physical needs but to some extent we exchange value daily, that happens through the exchange of valuable posts for valuable upvote which turns out to be a valuable asset that can be converted into liquidated currency. Speculative motive
When one keeps money expecting that he will buy a car is an example of a speculative reason for saving money. A case where you keep the exact amount waiting for the right time to spend it on such an item. Crypto also works in the same way but we save in speculation of when is the best time to sell. Everyone who keeps tokens waits patiently for that moment when the value will be exceptional compared to the prior price of such crypto. Just as even though the price is currently good, so many people will still wait in speculation that it will increase its value. Meeting it at the peak for better sell and gain.
