Another consequence of the Covid-19 Pandemic was the increase in Cyberattacks during 2020, with cybersecurity being globally impacted.


According to Security Report 2021, it notes that 87% of companies were cyberattack products during 2020.


In this report they point out as main keys: Cloud Adoption is ahead of cybersecurity, Telework in the spotlight, Double Extortion ransomware attacks increase, attacks on the healthcare sector become another epidemic, and Mobile devices are easy targets.
Data theft, ransomware with subsequent economic blackmail and personal information, threatening the reputations of those affected, becomes the new operandi mode used by cyber-delined.
There are many names of large organizations worldwide that were victims of cyberattacks last year, such as: FireEye (US Security Firm), Zendal (Farmaceutica Gallega), Mapfre (August 2020), Quiron Salud (May 2020), Tesla (August 2020), Adif (July 2020), Twitter "Twitter Bitcoint Scam of 2020", Honda (June 2020), among others.

In December 2020, kaspersky's II Online Policy Forum for Asia-Pacific discussed cyberdefensing strategies for APAC, where they were present:


• Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Vice Minister, Ministry of Information and Communications, Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
• Mr. Nur Achmadi Salmawan, Director of National Critical Information Infrastructure, National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), Government of Indonesia.
• Ms. Azleyna Ariffin, Principal Assistant Director, National Cyber Security Agency, Government of Malaysia; and
• Dr. Greg Austin, Professor of Cyber Security, Strategy and Diplomacy, University of New South Wales; and Senior Fellow for Cyber, Space and Future Conflict, International Institute for Strategic Studies.
During the development of this forum, the consequences of cyberattacks in Asia-Pacific were discussed, this region being particularly affected, one of the pioneers in global technology.
Among the opening statements of the Forum by the founder and CEO of Kaspersky Eugene Kaspersky, he noted:
"And today, our researchers are also closely monitoring more than 200 cybercriminal gangs responsible for launching hyper-directed attacks on banks, governments or critical infrastructure in countries"

On the other hand, according to Trend Micro's study, it shows that 81% of the companies surveyed claimed to have suffered a cyberattack during 2020, where 18% of these companies were attacked seven or more times during 2020 and 76% estimated to be attacked in 2021.


The data provided from the various sources demonstrate the importance of cyberattacks during 2020, even more worrying than the expectations that are met by experts in this area is that by 2021, the figures in this regard are even worse.
