A Quick Post for Newbies having Problems Staking and Powering Up Hive an POB
Recently I have noticed a few new users are having problems powering up Hive and Staking Pob, I had this problem myself not too long ago and thought I should write a quick post on what I did to resolve the issue.
I had problems with both Hivesigner and Hive Keychain the issue used to drive me nuts, but I soon discovered that I needed to do the following.
1. Make a copy of my master password, Private and Public Keys and put them somewhere safe, Preferable not on the computer you use, I chose a USB stick rather than keeping it on my computer for security reasons.
2. Remove both the Hivesigner and Hive Keychain extensions from your browser and reinstall them using your Master Password.
3. If using Hivesigner Keep a copy of the Password you use also on your USB or external storage disk space and If using Hive Keychain use your master password.
By using your Master Password on Hive Keychain the hive keychain should then automatically reconnect finding your keys and allowing you to stake your POB.
I had this issue myself at the start, It would be nice to see it simplified or at least with better instructions it can be very confusing especially for those that aren't used to using Master Passwords or Private and Public Keys.
Many of us get the Notice to use our active key, which has not been added to the wallet for when staking and it can be very confusing, I still have issue's accessing my #peakd account since sorting the issue on #leo, #hive and #pob for some reason.
If you have this problem follow what I have done, as long as you have a copy of your Master Password and private and Public Keys your account and earned tokens will still be there when you get back.
Alternatively to save you grief when planning on powering up or staking in advance of posting you can go to the post option, below where you place your post tags and cover image and change the reward settings from 50% Liquid and 50% Staked to 100% Power Up, that option is yours.
But remember converted POB Power can be sent to yourself or someone else, but needs to be reconverted to transfer again.
