Hi Everyone,

As some of you might have heard, we will be experimenting with the #hivechat this week, as we try to integrate Twitter and @Dbuzz. This means that the #hivechat will not only be on Twitter, but actually also on the #hive ecosystem.

Wait what?

On November 10th, 2020 at 12.00 PM (Noon) GMT/UTC, the #hivechat will take place. It is a chat of an hour, with 5 questions for the community that anyone can answer.

The questions will be ask by this week's host and anyone can answer, not just on the questions, but also on the responses to the questions.

What will the questions look like?

Every host gets to decide on the questions themselves. @traciyork has made a nice overview of different questions asked over the last couple of months.

To give an example question, let's look at an example question for tomorrow:

All you have to do is respond your answer in a comment below the post.

Isn't the #hivechat usually on Twitter?

Yes. It still is and it still will be. All questions will be posted on Twitter as well to reach the audience outside of Hive. Last week's #hivechat saw so much engagement from outsiders that someone following @the-bitcoin-dood on Twitter actually joined Hive mid-hivechat.

The above stats from last week suggest that at a certain point during the #hivechat 100 tweets reached 57.717 people on Twitter, who saw the Tweets a total of 258.476 times. And that's just a snapshot of 100 tweets (the #hivechat average between 250 and 1000 tweets in an hour).

So... what is all the @Dbuzz about?

The biggest knock on the #hivechat so far is that everything takes place on Twitter. Which means that all the questions and answered get stored on Twitter and none of the discussion actually takes place where interaction is needed the most... on Hive!

Getting the discussion on Hive in its turn is also a challenge, so to create a little extra buzz on Hive itself, we are turning to @Dbuzz.

And... what is Dbuzz?

Dbuzz is a microblogging platform that runs on the Hive ecosystem. You can access it by going to d.buzz and login in with your Hive username and posting key, or by using keychain to login.

If you are a bit of a techie, you can also go to next.d.buzz, as they are testing a new feature on November 10th that allows you to post directly to Twitter as well.

So... how do I participate in the #hivechat on November 10th?

You can do it the traditional way. Join on Twitter, wait until the clock strikes 12.00 PM GMT/UTC and answer a question every 10 minutes and interact with others in between. The question will be visible on the host's Twitter account (this week, it will be me << https://twitter.com/jeanlucsr >>, next week, it will be someone else).

Or you can join us by responding on @Dbuzz (on Hive) directly. In that case, you can go to https://next.d.buzz/#/@jeanlucsr/ to find the questions.

Wait, you're confusing me, should I go to Twitter or Dbuzz?

If you don't have Twitter, the answer is easy, go to Dbuzz. For everyone else, I'd suggest to interact on Dbuzz and maybe Tweet out the highlights of the discussion, linking back to the post/comments on @Dbuzz.

As mentioned before, this will be the first time doing it this way, so we don't have a clear idea what it will be like, but at least we've added another element, are allowing those that don't have a Twitter account to participate as well and will have all the answers on the #hivechat questions directly on Hive.

Ready?

Yes? Great! See at the #hivechat!!
