Splinterlands Last Season of 2022 Earnings, Gladius Packs and SPS/GLX

The season ended earlier today so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. I was collecting Silver chests for most of the season and rushed at the end to just collect some gold chests on the last day. It was really close but I did manage to get 50 chests so I think I should move up in rank one day earlier next time to make my buffer higher. The amount of points that I get in Gold is anywhere from double to triple what I was pulling in Silver so that point difference does matter. I don't think my rewards this time were the best but I still think it's a decent pull.

Season Rewards

Compared to last season, my fiat value is higher but I didn't get as many higher-ranked cards. I think it's due to me getting 2 packs instead of 1 pack and a legendary. The amount of SPS and merits I got dropped a lot and I got more potions in return. Overall, it's not a bad season at all. I will save those packs for the future when I have more potions to open them up.

Gladius Packs

![gladius openings.png]( I was able to collect two packs this season but the rewards were severely lacking. I got the bare minimum in terms of rarity and there weren't any gold cards either. I was able to upgrade the Helmet Kharafax and Hugo Strongsword to level 3 though but I don't think I will be using these two cards much.

SPS/GLX

My SPS from the season doesn't look that different with most of the areas about the same. The only difference was that I got more SPS from brawls since we did better there but fewer from chests reward.
My pool rewards for the season is 192.466 and I plan on staking all of this along with all of my staking rewards. I don't know why the pool rewards have doubled between this season and last but I guess there are less people getting involved in the deisel pool. I am taking profits off the GLX airdrop that I am getting and I have yet to figure out exactly what I will end up doing with that. I did spend some of my DEC in-game to buy a obsedian level 4 but it's being rented out right now due to the rental bot. I have to go clean up the cards that I have rented in the future.

Conclusion

It wasn't a bad season at all but I kind of wished I got lucky with a GFL or more packs. I still prefer this season's rewards over last season's because those packs are worth more in my opinion. Like last time, I am just following my previous strategy of taking profits with GLX and staking the rest in-game. It does look like the huge drop in crypto prices has affected the liquidity pools and even the rental income is down. I got my Chaos Legion packs and Arkemis cards from the promo. So I don't think it was a bad thing overall even if they did modify the items I got from CLP since my last season rewards.
