With the recent reward changes, I decided to improve my deck by buying some gold foil Chaos Legion cards to win more fights. To buy these cards, I sold some of my SPT tokens and bought some DEC in Hive Engine. In the past, I delegated most of my staked SPT tokens over to @monster-curator to get some passive SPT tokens and with the SPS airdrop ending, I decided to move around the SPT tokens I got daily into cards.

Purchases

I choose to buy gold foil Chaos Legion cards because I wanted to win more matches as my win rate has tanked after the recent changes. As I started playing during the untamed edition, I have been fighting more in the modern rule set but most of my cards are leveled up untamed cards. For the first few days of the season, I lost more fights than I won. It wasn't until the most recent change about focus quests that I started winning more matches.

There is a bonus 10% reward points for my focus and seasonal chests when using gold foil cards. As I was focusing more on common and rare cards, these cards tend to be level 3 and I believe this is a strong enough level for me to use them in matches.

In exchange for a little over 9k SPT tokens, I got my hands on 15.7k DEC to buy the cards below.

I focused more on buying the gold foil common and rare cards. In this way, I can build up my deck and improve my options. I have already started to use a few of these cards and it has increased my points when I win. I used Monster Market for my purchases to get back 60% of the fees generated, which turns out to be about 3% DEC back. Compared to buying more expensive cards, I believe that having a higher quantity of cards is better for me to get more points. It's what I could purchase using the funds from SPT and I chose to do this over adding to my rental market because there are going to be plenty of changes happening. So I will wait to see how things change there before making more changes to the rental strategy that I have.

Conclusion

The modern matches are the best choice for me because of the cards that I have but I haven't tried the wild matches to know if it's the actual case. However, I have noticed that my win rate is horrible after this change so I decided to increase the level of my chaos legion cards. With this, I am hoping that I win more matches and earn more rewards from my chests. It was a horrible struggle as I was stuck in Silver, but I was finally able to move back up to Gold. If this works out well, I may start moving around funds to improve my deck even more.

How are you doing under the new match format?
