There is freedom of speech and everybody is entitled to his or her opinion but its up to us to choose what to follow. As each day comes and go, we tend to get different advice from our boss, colleagues, family or friends, that's life and we should be used to it.

I will start from recent and work my way backwards, while is was at Ibadan, during my baking training, I found myself to be among people that speak a different language from mine and they hardly communicate with English or Pidgin which became a tough ride for me.

Pixabay I had difficulty coping among my colleagues who are always found speaking their language, I found myself in a point where I had to make a decision to stay or to leave. I sought for advice and was given the advice to stay and pay deaf ears to any communication spoken if not English, at some point that was a good advice but in the real sense, it can't work because one can learn in so many ways, either through your colleagues or through your boss. I had already made up my mind to stop when I had the discussion with my boss who told me that it will be rectify and in no time, the environment was conducive for me to stay.

Say Whatever it Takes to Close the Deal

This is an advice in which I have fallen victim of, I went to the market to buy something and I was well convinced by the seller that what I needed that product for would be settled but after some days of using it, it made the whole thing worst. There was nothing I could do but to go in search of a better product recommended.

Work Hard So Your Boss Would Know Your Worth

Depending on your place of work, If you find yourself in an establishment especially in Nigeria where you work above your normal working hours to please your boss or for favoritism, if something happens along the line, you will be handled like other normal worker. All your time and effort will all be for waste. Pixabay

Playing Game in Your Computer

During my one year internship at the bank, my work was shuffled from customer service and bulk teller. While I was at customer service, I was told by a colleague, to play game on my computer to give the customer the impression that I'm extra busy with their request. Which was not a good advice to work with.

Do What Your Colleagues Are Doing

This can be a good advice for some persons but it also depend on where you find yourself. When I worked as a secretary in a law firm, we were 4 secretary in the office at that time, so there wasn't much work. My colleagues come to work and perform the same activity every day, it was no longer fun for me, I decided to accompany my boss to court each time he lives for the court. I was told to follow suit my co-workers in the normal office duties but as long my boss was ok with my decision, I was happy with it because it opened new experience for me in terms of law in general.
