Happy New Year Hive!

2022 is here now, and I figured that it would be a good idea to put my goals for the year ahead on chain and have something to refer back to as the year progresses. The following goals will be my current core holdings, and other things could come along as the year progresses. However these are my main focus for the year ahead.

Osmosis

My plans are to consolidate my LP positions into the following core pools:

  • OSMO/ATOM
  • OSMO/LUNA
  • OSMO/CRO
  • OSMO/SCRT
  • OSMO/AKT
  • OSMO/CMDX
  • OSMO/JUNO

There is a high likely hood of adding other pools to this list. Once the gravity bridge is active and linked to Osmosis, I feel certain I will add an OSMO/ETH position. Also, when the bridge being built to the Cosmos for BTC eventuates, a BTC pool will be a priority. Finally, hopefully RUNE adds IBC (I know they are not going to use it for pools, but its still in the plans for moving the token and synth's they generate). An OSMO/RUNE pool would be sick.

Likely to hold decent positions in 10 different pools by years end. You may notice that I have no staked OSMO in my plans. I've focused on LP's, with the outlook being that superfluid staking comes along in the next few months, and this will boost my returns from the above LP's, as the OSMO component will earn staking rewards - and then the pool will earn LP incentives.

I will be relying on OSMO income as part of my day to day income, so the goal will be to use some of the income, and build the positions over time, and some of the income to convert to fiat for my living expenses.

Cosmos Eco-system stakes.

  • ATOM - My current position of 200 staked Atom's feels insufficient. Goal for the year will be to pick opportunities to build this stake up to 500 ATOM by year end. On top of that will be ATOM's in the OSMO/ATOM LP noted above. It is anticipated that this ATOM position will generate a number of airdrops for new assets over the year, and these will be assessed and dealt with on a case by case basis.

  • CMDX - Short term goal is 2000 CMDX. I'm currently just shy of 1500 now, and have plans to boost this to 2000 during January. Once I hit that goal, future staking rewards (plus the remaining airdrops over the rest of the year) will be added to the OSMO/CMDX LP. Comdex is only a very new chain, but I already consider it to be a core component of my holdings moving forward. Once the platform is live, I shall assess my participation in the platform and adapt at the time. But 2000 staked CMDX is the minimum goal - by the end of JAN.

  • JUNO - Currently, I have no JUNO stake (big mistake). I have unbonded my current JUNO/OSMO LP position and will convert it all into a stake. That should result in around 350 JUNO. Target for the end of year will be to build this to 1000 staked. Then the goal will be to rebuild the LP position on Osmosis, by sending daily staking returns into the pool. Staked JUNO also has a high likely hood of generating a number of airdrops over the year, and each of these will be considered at the time.

  • AKT - This is an interesting one for me. I had a decent sized stake in it and was bullish earlier in 2021. As the year progressed, the price underperformed, and I decided at the time to shift the funds to an OSMO LP and diversify a bit. This proved to be a solid move, with putting a portion of the funds into the OSMO/LUNA pool having performed far better than AKT in the short term. However, I still find myself wanting a long term stake position in AKT, and will look to rebuild my stake alongside the above mentioned. Target 5000 AKT by year end.

  • I have small positions in a few other staked tokens, and will likely add to them over time. Some may be culled, and consolidated in the above. Currently, when airdrops arrive, I stake them. Then I follow the project for a while to see if it one I want to build in to my core holdings. So far only Comdex (CMDX) has really captured my attention. Others may through the year, and end up becoming a core portfolio component. No targets here, it's all on a case by case basis. Particularly watching for EVMOS and GRAV, but also keeping an eye on others. HUAHUA is fun, and I have a little stake, and will likely build that position, just in case it follows DOGE and SHIBA into a high market cap. But it is just for fun and not really a core holding.

HIVE eco-system.

  • HIVE POWER - This will be interesting for me. Part of my "making a living from crypto" plan will revolve around powering down HIVE throughout the year. This is not a sign of bearishness, just how I need to structure my finances. HIVE is core to my entire crypto portfolio, and has been (along with LEO) the source of all the funds that seeded my Cosmos eco-system holdings. At current prices, my HIVE should be sufficient to pay my RENT and fixed living expenses for the year. The main goal will be to earn as much as possible, and build income flows to hopefully minimize how much HP I drop over the year. Ideally, If I can hold my HP above 10,000 I'll be happy. Over this would be good, but will depend on a number of things going right.

  • HBD - Currently, I have a little over 2000 HBD in savings. My goal for the year is to build this over 10K. This fund is primarily my emergency reserves - building an income earning stash of funds that can be accessed in a few days if the need arises. Back up plan in case other stuff does not go to plan.

  • LEO - My primary platform on Hive, currently I hold a bit over 12K staked LEO, which I curate with delegated to the LeoAlpha project I run. My goal for the year is to significantly build up this staked LEO holding to 50K or more. I had a lot more than my current stake, but much of it found its way to Cubfinance initially, and eventually over to the Cosmos based portfolio mentioned above. My plan is to aggressively rebuild this position as fast as possible. The other target will be ProjectBlank, whenever it arrives. This will be a spin off platform for Leofinance that I plan to be active on and build a stake in also. I have decided that I won't be shifting personal funds to Cubfinance or PolyCub when that happens. My main focus will remain on HIVE. This is not anything against those platforms, just a recognition that I hold a decent position there anyway through my SPI (SPinvest) holdings.

  • Spinvest SPI - Not planning much change to my Spinvest holdings. Slowly grind up over the year. Managing the @spinvest-leo funds gives me an active involvement in the performance of this token.

  • Airdrops - The upcoming airdrops for Ragnarok and Speak are both projects I plan to build an involvement in. These drops will not just be dump and run's for me, they will both be positions I will look to build and grow over the year. No targets, but active involvement in both and long term positioning as core components of my HIVE based asset portfolio.

Other stuff:

  • Splinterlands I'm keen to re-build my Splinterlands position over the year. I've started, and have some cards and an SPS stake. It's a base to grow from, which I plan to focus more on once I have more time available to me from Feb.

  • NFT's - Two NFT projects on Ethereum that I have stumbled into are both growing and looking at new use cases and options for holders. "The Floor NFT" are building a "Metaverse" and I am currently earning "FLOORS" which will be the backbone of this new platform. Also "Drop Bears" are looking to build a game. I'll follow these projects and participate where I can. Really not excited about them being on Ethereum, as the GAS there still sux.

  • Who knows what else - One thing I have learned through my crypto journey so far is to expect the unexpected. This time last year, Osmosis was just in early development phase. I saw some tweets hinting to have some staked ATOM at the time of the February network upgrade. I Fomo'd in some funds and the outcome of that was Osmosis becoming one of the biggest drivers of my Crypto portfolio for the year. Who knows what might come along in 2022 like that. Plan's and goals can only go so far, staying alert for opportunities can be a much more important skill. A huge component of my portfolio by the end of 22 might be a platform that does not even exist yet. Keeping an eye out, and pouncing on opportunities early will be my most important goal.

The main focus of my goals for 2022 overall is building my asset base while covering my families living expenses from crypto income. Tough ask I feel for someone with no dev skills, and no trading skills to live and support a family of 4 full time from crypto, but that is what it is.

Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear what you all think of my targets and what you are working on for 2022.

Cheers,

JK.
