The OMNIFLIX Airdrop has just been announced.

The latest airdrop for the Cosmos ecosystem has just been announced. Omniflix have announced their airdrop, and importantly given the broad guidelines for qualification, and a snapshot date of 22 Jan 2022. That means you have 3 days to prepare for this, and there are a few steps you can take to improve your position.

Who will get the drop?

You can read the full announcement from the team in this blog post. There are 8 categories in total, some of which will be out of reach for many, being for validators and participants in test nets and so on. Here is all the categories, and then I'll look at what people can do to maximize.

  1. Delegators to Omniflix validators on the following chains: Akash, Agoric, Ki, Sentinel, Juno, Osmosis, Comdex and Stargaze.
  2. Nodes that validated on Omniflix test-nets.
  3. Campaign participants on Test-net 2 and 3.
  4. Users of Omniflix apps.
  5. ATOM stakers (excluding exchange validators).
  6. Osmosis LP's in certain pools.
  7. ION holders.
  8. A Selection of community pools/DAO's.
Point 1

If you have some stake on the listed chains, you can redelegate some to the Omniflix validator easily. Important, don't un-delegate, just redelegate. On chains listed, I have moved a portion of my stake. It is unclear if the drop will weight, or just be a fixed amount to delegators on each chain. I've moved a bit of my stake around, but don't want to stop supporting my existing validators like @nulledgh0st with Whispernode so I just moved a bit hoping that it's just a fixed amount for each delegator rather then a weighted amount. Will have to wait till after the snapshot to find out, so make your own assumptions.

Point 2 and 3.

Probably not relevant to most of us.

Point 4.

I'm unsure if this includes the popular Omniflix wallet and staking tool that are widely used for a number of chains or not. If it does, then these are easy to access and use, but it likely does not and will include only a much narrower range of users. Here is the quote from the announcement post so you can draw your own conclusions:

Users of our apps — interactive videos on alpha.OmniFlix.tv, Users of Stream Pay along with delegates of Cosmos Cosmo verse Conference (metaverse & IRL/physical presence at the event).

Point 5.

Easy, if you have ATOM staked (not to an exchange validator like Binance) you are good. If not, you have 3 days. There is likely to be a minimum of 5 or 10 ATOM staked, although that is not stated so its up to you.

Pont 6.

Hard to know which pools will qualify. A guess would be the pools for tokens that Omniflix validates on the chain for. But that is pure speculation. In most cases, if you have LP positions on Osmosis it is likely to be too late to change anyway. If you are like me and bonded for 14 days then thinking about changing is pointless. This is one category where just sticking to your plan, and hoping for the best is the most sensible action.

Point 7.

You could buy some ION on Osmosis if you are keen. Not sure if it includes ION LP's, or just Hodlers. DYOR on ION, I sold mine early, which has proved to be a big mistake. Can't bring myself to buy back in at current prices, but each to their own.

Point 8.

Again, not really relevant for most of us.

Summary.

Simply, the easiest ways to secure some of this airdrop is to have staked ATOM's (in your wallet, not to exchanges), shift some delegation on the above mentioned chains to the Omniflix validator, and hope your LP's on Osmosis are in the included list, and maybe buy ION if you have some funds floating around.

You have three days to act accordingly. Best wishes, and stay tuned for more Cosmos eco0system airdrop news here on Leofinance and/or by following my Twitter.
