I just learned about Hive Power up day!

Hello everybody! I am new to hive and yesterday I was in a crises. After posting, playing games, upvoting and just interacting with the hive block chain I found myself in urgent need of Hive power. I had only 20% left! So last night I decided to power up my hive by 20 hp.

These are the new stats I received. I did not think to take a picture before to compare. But I did go from around 20% rc to nearly 50%

I was very happy that I could continue posting and that my RC limit and recharge rate also went up. Powering up is essential to using the block chain to the fullest extent. Just the other day I was invited to review anime, I been wanting to get into 3speak for video content, and I like participating in other content creators posts. All of this takes alot of hive power. However I had no clue that power up day existed. Shortly after powering up I got a comment about it.

My curious nature along with this comment, inspired me to do a little bit of research about it. I learned that I get to earn a cool new badge and I also learned about the website hive.buzz

Here I found all sorts of badges I could earn by doing all sorts of things. I think it is pretty cool that Hive has a sort of built in achievement system. As a gamer, I love goals and accomplishing them. With 5 minutes left in hive day I decided to do one extra push to help my account.

That is right! I invested 80 more hive to make sure that I can get that cool 100 hive powered up badge! I did not do it just for the badge. I seriously plan on being more active and using up my rc. Even this might not be enough for what I have planned but it is a start and I am happy to learn that Hive power up day happens on the first of every month!. I could also earn badges by delegating some hive to newer users. I would love to earn those once my account becomes more sustainable.

These are my updated stats after powering up hive for a full 100 hive this power up day! I can charge about 28 comments a day which is super helpful but maybe not enough for how active I wish to be. I am definately planning on participating on the next power up day and maybe help someone too so I can get that badge.

Here are some of my current hive.buzz stats. Not too bad, not too impressive either. Perhaps with this newfound power of mine, I will be able to hunt for many more badges.

I also just refreshed my hive.buzz profile page while writing this and 5 minutes have passed. I got my badge!!! No lag or waiting, instantly gave it to me when they said they would give it to me.

Just look at that cute little bee! He is a strong one too. I am quite happy with the hive block chain and all it provides it's users. If you missed out on this hive power up day.
