If you are anything like me; you have probably at some point dreamed about having the chance to work in the bitcoin, or cryptocurrency industry. Working in the industry that you are so incredbily passionate about could be a dream come true. It might make those dreaded Monday's a whole lot more enjoyable when they come around each week. Not only that, but you might be able to work this job anywhere you want to in the world. Imagine putting your hours in; then shutting your laptop and heading out to the beach. It is a very enticing thought.

That is all well and good, but how would you even go about getting a job in the bitcoin industry? And can you do it where you're living right now? I would like to treat this article as a group help article; encouraging anyone with tips or advice to comment down below.

This has been a keen area of interest for me the last few months as I am considering entering this industry for work as well. While this article will not tell you exactly how to get a job, or even guarantee it, but it will hopefully begin to lead you in the right direction that might eventually help you out.

Fortunately for many of us, the cryptocurrency industry is very open and flexible, and has become even more so during the last year because of Covid. One of these areas is the ability to work remotely. Many companies are willing to hire candidates from any country, and instead of focusing on finding a person from the correct area; they are just focusing on finding the best candidate. This opens up a lot opportunities that a person might not have had before. A person living in Japan could be working for an American cryptocurrency company. Or you could live the digital nomad life; perhaps living on some island while working your job. This really gives a person complete freedom over their life. Although I should add that sometimes these companies will require overlap time that has their staff working at the same hours. This might mean you could be working in the middle of the night if you are across the world.

Before applying, you need to prepare yourself just like you would for any job application. This means updating your resume, and also your LinkedIn profile as well. Nearly every cryptocurrency job I have ever thought about applying for has required both of these. Make sure that they look clean and profile, and give off the right image. First impression is everything. While the jobs moving towards becoming worldwide remote might seem like only a positive thing; there are also challenges that come with it. For example; the competition used to only be people within the area of the job, but now you will be competing against people from all throughout the world. This means you need to do the best you can to showcase yourself and stand out.

Now that you have those two basic things sorted out; how can you go about finding a job?

This is always one of the most difficult parts of this whole process. I recommend to first make a list of all the companies that you know in the industry. These are already companies you know, love and have a great knowledge base for. Write them all down, and then go to the careers page on their website. Some companies in the bitcoin industry have over a hundred job openings. Go through the page and apply for anything that you might qualify for. Don't be afraid to apply, the worst thing that could happen is that they only reject you. While you are looking at the available job pages; make a note of what kind of job openings you are seeing. A large majority of the job openings will often be something tech related, marketing or customer service. If you don't have any of the necessary skills/experience to qualify for a job, you will now have a goal in mind to reach. You can learn the skills required to qualify for the job, or perhaps even find an entry level job in a non-crypto industry opening to gain some experience and then later apply for an opening in the bitcoin industry at a later time. A key thing to remember is that many of these jobs are not entry level jobs, and require years worth of previous experience to qualify. Building your own work history and resume is important for not only working in the crypto industry, but any industry out there.

So now you have applied for jobs at the companies you love, but perhaps you haven't had a reply yet. It is time to expand your search. This is when you begin to use job posting sites. Personally I check these almost on a daily basis to see if there is anything new that interests me. These job posting sites sometimes have hundreds of available open jobs.

Here are some of my favorites:

PompCryptoJobs

CryptoJobsList

https://cryptocurrencyjobs.co

These are just a few that I often check on a daily basis. But also be sure to check your typical job listing websites such as Indeed, LinkedIn and more. I very regularly will see cryptocurrency related job posts on these sites as well.

But you need to remain vigilant and resourceful. Also check constantly check remote job posting sites as well. Some of the sites that I like are RemoteOk, and We Work Remotely. Again; if you have found other job posting sites that you feel have been helpful, please recommend them in the comments below. Knowledge is power.

And if you look very closely you can find recruiters on the internet who are basically "head hunters," who will try to help find you a job. Although I must admit I haven't used any of those services yet.

If you are serious about wanting to work in the bitcoin industry; there is one key thing that you need to remember. That key thing is to have persistence. You probably won't get first job that you apply for. You also probably won't get the second or third, or maybe even the first ten. But you need to remember to never give up and lose hope. The same as applying for any type of job.

Now on to a topic that many people will care the most about; the salaries. The salaries that I have found have been ranged from respectable, to quite good. Of course that all depends on the type of job it is and the skills or experience required. I have seen customer service jobs in the $30-40k+ range. Marketing jobs in the $50k+ range. Then the more technical required or senior level jobs often over $100k in salary. If you build yourself up and move up the ladder, this could be a lucrative industry for an average person.

As for me. I have a very stable job right now, but I am always on the lookout for something even better, as should all of you. Of course, because of my interests I would love to work in the cryptocurrency industry, but haven't found anything yet; although I am actively looking. Of course I'm always open for job offers if anyone wants to contact me about a possible job opening.

How about you?! Have you considered getting a job in the bitcoin or cryptocurrency industry? Have you been successful? And to help others, where did you find the job listing?
