Hi Sofia, could you tell us about yourself?

I’m an illustrator and character creator from Russia. Since studying in Poland, I now live in Spain, drawing illustrations for a Californian company.

Creating characters is my biggest passion, I can draw them like 24/7, and the cool thing is that really they create themselves (I don’t see them in my mind, they just appear one line after another), so it’s always a surprise for me, how they look at the end.

I love to meet new people, connect with them, love stories/experiences/thoughts and feelings that they share, and I like to share back. That’s why I moved to Europe, because here I can meet more different people from different countries, with different backgrounds.

I love it, because this is the way to get some clues about living this life and being an artist (because nobody really knows how to do it, we don’t have instructions...only clues that we can find in other people's stories), and this is my biggest inspiration--people.

And that’s why I’m so impressed and surprised by the NFT community!! It feels like a place to meet and connect, like Friday afterwork drinks with coworkers, you know?

Yeah, it's a great community. What has your experience been selling NFTs?

Before my first sells I spent 1 week watching/observing the community (tbh I found out about NFTs in February, but was too shy to get in to it). So 1 week on Twitter trying to understand what actually is going on here.

The first thing that I saw was the gm/gn thing...hahaha...that’s SUPERCUTE! But yeah in the first days I realized that nobody is actually selling anything here, people are just talking/sharing/supporting and looking for something that they will like (maybe?).

I’m following the idea “be yourself and stay true” all my life, so when I noticed that it works in NFTs I was so excited to try to share myself with the audience a bit more too. And omg I can’t believe but it works! I feel so comfortable here and hope to meet a lot of people with beautiful souls and good taste in art. And of course I love money (everyone does) and I want to be financially independent to create and share more.

Because of NFTs I finally feel seen and accepted, as an artist and an individual. And I have no words do describe my happiness about it.

And I SO APPRECIATE all my first collectors that bought my first dudes, I’ll never forget you guys and I hope to have long term relationships with you, not only one-drop stand :) and of course I hope that new collectors are gonna find me/or I’ll find them.

Where do you drop your art?

I’d started with XTZ marketplace because my goal now was to find my audience and to spread my art, I want to be seen!

But depending on how goes I want to try to make some special drops on Foundation of course, I want DUDES to become a really unique collection and honestly I want people to be hungry to buy them. And since I’m drawing everyday, the collection can grow every single week :)

Also I have some feminine artwork--GIRLS. Maybe I’ll try to drop one of them next week, they represent my more soft side of art.

Btw I’m planning to collect new art with every single sell too (I already have 6 first artworks that I collected:)

What would you say to others about to join the NFT community?

To everyone who still feels shy or not sure about “how to sell art”, these are few things that I noticed that motivate me:

  1. NFTs are about being you and finding your connections, not about selling.
  2. Be brave to get into NFT, you will find your people sooner or later, just keep working. This NFT thing looks way more friendly inside than outside, and I’m happy that I decided to finally be brave enough to get into it.
  3. Be patient, be kind and support other.

In conclusion! I’m unexpectedly happy and appreciate that the community accepted me. Sending a lot of love to everyone ♥️
