Bitcoin on pace to be roughly 3x more popular than PayPal

Here's a nice neato/crazy stat of the day for you.

Back in 2019, Paypal did roughly $700 billion in transaction volume.

Yesterday, bitcoin did roughly $5.8 billion in transaction settlement volume.

If that bitcoin number is annualized from here, it would put bitcoin on pace to do $2.1 trillion in transaction settlement volume on the year.

Which would make it 3x as popular as PayPal was last year.

The really crazy part is that bitcoin may even dwarf those numbers as bitcoin is likely to be even more widely used next year than it is right now.

Bitcoin is already more popular then PayPal, Venmo, and Apple Pay.

And they said Bitcoin was like beanie babies.
