Building your account on Hive can be a very rewarding process. This community and blockchain, gives back everything you put into it. From the rewards you generate, the people you meet and the skills you learn...Everything about building on Hive is an adventure!

A few years ago, a member of the CTP community created a little hashtag that struck a chord with me...

He called it #myhivegoals

The idea was pretty straight forward, document your journey on Hive and broadcast your wins, losses and account growth.

Over the years, the general idea has stayed the same and every Saturday evening, it's one of my favorite posts of the week that I get to create. Mainly, it keeps me on task and fired up to grow my account. And sure, sometimes we stumble, but that's what is so cool about #myhivegoals , you know what your target is, so you pick up where you left off and keep pushing forward.

So much so that I've literally made a game out of growing my account on Hive. And in today's post, I thought it would be useful to highlight some of the tools, techniques and strategies I use to 'gamify' my Hive journey!

The Hive Power Goal

This is as straight forward as can be. And to reach this number it's some simple math...I decide on the first of January (the new year) what I want my target to be.

I don't make this number unattainable, but I also try to stretch myself. And then the math is simple, I take the target number, minus what I have in my account.

Super simple. But here's the addicting part of this, I want to see that number go down each and every week. Whether it's from powering up, creation or curation rewards, my goal each and every week of the year is to make the number shrink towards my goal.

I also use the same 'game' for different tribe tokens I want to grow, in my case I've been tracking both @leofinance 's LEO and @splinterlands 's SPT tokens.

Dollar Coast Averaging

I have a few income tokens that I try to grow as well, but my newest addiction is the liquidity pools on TribalDex!

And it's hard to monitor your growth here unless you track your 'shares'...

Pardon the awful hand writing, but this is literally what I have written down in my journal to track how my shares are growing in different pools I'm in. As you can see, one consistently went up, the other went down because there's been a lot of #splinterlands pre-sales I've wanted to get into lol

But my 'game' here is to see those numbers, go up each and every day. I do that my dollar cost averaging and rolling my earnings back into these pools. Each day, I see the shares grow....

Unless of course, the Splinterlands addiction calls lol

The Daily Income Goal

This is the sweet one for me...

You see, I have a dream! And I'm sure I share it with so many on chain as well. I think we all want to one day, be able to live off our daily activities and actions here on Hive and all the related second layer projects.

So I have a daily goal in Hive income I want to reach....And of course, this all depends on what Hive is trading at, so if we're earning 5 Hive a day and it's worth $1 each, 5 bucks in your daily income.

So I target my 'goal' at 100 Hive per day. I can live pretty good off of 100 Hive a day, if Hive gets back to around a buck or more...But for now, it's still in accumulation mode for me.

To 'gamify' this, I use HiveStats.

Super simple math here as well....

I take the number under Author Rewards and divide it by 7, and do the same with Curation Rewards.

This shows me how much I'm earning from my creation and curation. I also add the income I earn from various delegation projects I am into as well. This spits out a number and let's me know how close or far I am from my goals.

I hope this post helps and shows you how you can have a ton of fun, making a game out of your Hive journey. Set realistic goals and you'll be blown away at what you can accomplish in a few months.

And of course.....Have a ton of fun with it!!
