It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Yesterday, the CryptoManiacs podcast published it's 122th episode of the podcast. That's 122 episodes of @taskmaster4450 and myself, talking about how much we love Hive ;)

But when we started this little project over a year ago, there were no guarantees. All we committed to, was to show up, every week and create content. Since then, we've grown our listenership across multiple platforms and have enjoyed spreading the word about this blockchain each and every week.

122 episodes!

And that's something people shy away from when they are starting any endeavour online. Especially when they are trying to build a brand or build a business online. They see the 'end result' but ignore the journey. Wanna know a secret? To start seeing results from your actions, you need to stop thinking about the 'end result' and focus much more on the journey.

I named this blog post 'The Marathon' because of what I have learned throughout this process of 'building' something like the CryptoManiacs podcast.

When we first started the show, we didn't have guests lining up to talk with us however fast forward to today and our schedule is booked up sometimes months in advance for guests! Why is that?

Is the podcast....On Joe Rogan levels?

Not at all...However from being on this 'marathon' we've built a track record that people can look at and see a history of guys that have a passion for what they do. That's attractive to potential listeners and customers because it shows them dedication!

This isn't my first rodeo when it comes to starting a podcast but it's the first one I've attempted that's...Got that history!

I started one way back in like 2008 and it lasted...2 months. I even attempted another show that had a life span of about 2 episodes. Do I sit around and blame the world because those shows didn't last? Nope, I didn't give it time to grow. The brand has no track record so when people see the last episode was updated in 2008, they won't listen and most definitely not subscribe.

You see, the marathon is what conditions you for success.

Far too many times people start a project, or a business and never give it the time it needs to mature. Remember, the track record you build is what attracts listeners, customers and subscribers. You may have the best content in the world but without a track record of actually...Putting in the work...Most people will ignore it!

We can see this right here on the blockchain too....

Who has the most followers?

Upvotes?

Comments?

It's usually the creators that have a track record of putting in the work! The ones that have been running the marathon for some time and have no signs of slowing down.

There's a quote that I have written down in my journal that I regularly read...

"Make the commitment to be here in a year, in anything you do online!"

And I'll add to it...

Make the second commitment to produce a track record during that year, of adding value to your customers, listeners and subscribers!

If you do that....

You cannot lose!
