The Alt Revolution

The evolution and advancement of crypto has been totally immense, when you take a look, especially in a place like Nigeria, most people only probably knows Bitcoin and Ethereum, it was probably the inceptions of other alt coins that have a lot of people the knowledge of crypto to some extent, every day, this is getting better.

More Crypto related projects are showing the diversity and utility of Crypto and of course showing that BTC is only part of the ecosystem and not everything that Crypto is all about, so many others probably found out what crypto is by placing spin games online, others through blockchain projects, while others through some alt coins.

Take for example, hive is fragmented into tokenized communities, tokenized projects, its own very successful game making the round, into DeFi as a result of leofinance, due to the recent hardfork, you can now even earn interest for saving in stable coin HBD.

Let's not even go to prices because I feel this fluctuates as a result of many variables. While the chain is over five years, hive itself is just over a year old and smartly moving in the right direction. What's the point I'm trying to make? Point is, time, plus development and growth will eventually translate to more opportunities.

When we look at the history of social media, it purely about Facebook. Overtime, we saw diverse Mediums coming in to bring something different. A lot of people knew crypto to only be a form of invisible money that will be an end to fiat currency. But crypto has proven to be different, it's proven to be an excellent store of value and with defi projects people can now earn compound interest with better ROI.

Tokenization Of Individuals & Communities

Gaming is being tokenized, wealth is being created, crypto based communities and projects are empowering their members for being part of them and bringing their time, resources and presence. This is to show that crypto and the power of tokenization is absolutely not limited by any means. Some many centralized financial institutions are, but this isn't crypto.

For example, since money, banks and others started existing in Nigeria let's say, we haven't really seen an opportunity to empower people, all we see is changing the currency from coin to paper. Recently we heard the Central Bank of Nigeria trying to incentivize people to hold more naira rather than the dollar, when obviously holding the dollar will help save one's money against inflation.

The banks aren't creative enough in empowering people who hold enough financial power. For example, maybe loaning or leasing them a landed property for a period of time for having a specific amount of money in their account. This can even motivate people to save more money and then lift others out of poverty and create new means of livelihood.

So fiat is limited, apart from the promise of giving you a little interest for a specific period of time, there's no incentive to saving in the bank or dealing with monetary institutions. Lending money is the same old issue, you pay high rates of interest to financial associations, especially when you don't own a collateral. Simply put, it's difficult to create money or means to create money with fiat, especially in a place as Nigeria.

How Bland Is Fiat?

The knowledge of crypto creates untold opportunities, and it's been great to see how it isn't limited to just bitcoin, if not adoption entirely would be totally difficult. At this stage we only know what Crypto can offer, it'll even get better, it'll be integrated into the lives of people irrespective of government policies, geographical locations and even boundaries create by the systems in the world.

This is probably not the same as fiat. It's limited to geographical locations, inflation, rate and so many other things. Crypto is universally changing lives, and we haven't even seen the limit.
