In 2014 I was basically trading my diverse niche content for a few naira. Back then Ad Sense was making the round and it was basically the most viable business on the internet before the likes of fiverr came into the mix. People would specifically open up a blog and then look for content creators to could suit their niche to provide them with contents to of course fill the blogs. Ad Sense by Google was difficult to come by especially if it was for countries like Nigeria. It was of course easy to your blog to get Ad Sense especially if it was exceptional, had natural traffic and of course engagement to a certain level. All this boiled down to having the exceptional content of which makes people visits your blog in the first place.

This did prove that no matter how little I was of course earning from pawning my contents, contenting will become more viable and more lucrative in the future. Places like fiverr, iwrite, udemy, 3speak, hive and many others has proven this. Contenting has taken a quite noticeable evolution. Back in the days in Nigeria you can only earn with regular photography, taking passports and pictures and of course covering weddings and well other events. Nowadays people take photo shoots on their birthdays creative photoshoots, photography, videography can earn you huge money on the internet and this of course shows how contenting has come so far especially in a place like Nigeria.

In the present people now sell their video based content talking about phone reviews and many others, now I'm not saying this wasn't possible in 2013 and 14. Majorly uploading videos on YouTube in Nigeria in 2014 was more or less like a hobby rather than an attempt to monetization or have even a little penny for putting up videos online. Having these skills were not really something people felt was good enough. In Nigeria back then people back up degrees with skills like tailoring, fashion designing, tie and die, confectionery, brick laying and event planning to some extent but then having writing or talking skills or well vast experience in a particular field wasn't counted as being profitable simply because these skills didn't automatically transcend to money in the instant.

Nowadays people are willing to pay for the slightest of services offered to them. People want to pay for the realest of human experience to the tiniest details, they want to be able to get the info and actually derive entertainment or knowledge from it and this is where the internet has if course has a huge revolution so far. Nowadays I no longer need to pawn my content like I did for people who owned blogs and seeking for ad sense. Truth is because these people had just ad sense to rely on, I couldn't even earn much for them. Some of those contents were amazing and although I was happy to get paid a little for it, i wasn't happy that I couldn't own it while paid stipends for it but today, i can have more. It means I can own it and still and still put it out there and earn for it.

It's been great thus far, content skillset are now more appreciated and monetizating it has so far been great. In Nigerian schools entrepreneurship skills are being taught but then I feel they need to even look at exposing content skills to people. it's important for the future. More opportunities will open up in the future and even better. One thing is, the human experience will always be lucrative and it's always good to look at it this way. This is why I began polishing my content skills in 2016 and of course finally I found the right place to monetize them in 2017 of September. The internet of course will diversify further and we he have many billionaires in the future. It begins here. Be expectant.
