Money is never enough and this is because needs and wants are endless and changes with time to something eventually different. One need brings the need for another need and hence, the cycle becomes endless and never stops, this is normal. Earlier today I was talking to a person about contentment and why we actually need it especially when taking monetary decisions and actions.

The person then began to stress that as a result of endlessness to our needs, cravings and desires there will forever be 100% competitiveness and hence contentment will be difficult to achieved but then I told him something quite different; inasmuch as contentment is viewed more as a virtue I believe we always need it as a check to our excesses.

Now I do believe attaining some degree of contentment can be difficult, but not impossible. I think the highest stage of competition is what causes the need for unfair advantage. When competition becomes too much this is when people uses nefarious and questionable means to compete.

Because of the fear that too much competition might make them lose, hence they go all diabolical in other to ascertain that they'll become winners at all cost. People who have the unfair advantages in a contest are always eager, they spend the time waiting to make the rules of the game rather unfair and at the end they emerge winners taking the sting off their competitors.

But then the inability to want to level the playing field is greed. Inasmuch as nothing is ever enough, we know when we have attained plenty and aiming to still own more than we can accommodate in a lifetime probably pile up money in different bank accounts for the next generation and the generation after to spend.

While a lot of people are thinking of the future of their grandchildren, others in the present currently don't have a future. So imagine being in competition with someone who is already ran the race, understand the rules trying to run on behalf of his children or grandchildren. This is the case in Nigeria. Some many politicians are guilty.

They own money they cannot finish spending in their lifetime no matter how much they spend on a daily basis and this is where contentment should come in. People have adjusted to corruption, accept the lack of accountability by African politicians but yet, these guys are still going in hard to make sure the own the country, milking every money that comes in.

Power to them is an avenue to make illegitimate means legal. They use their authority to legalise corruption and hence they see wealth as something they need to continue accumulating with a need to stop at a particular juncture and think about giving back or allowing it to overflow back to the citizens in forms of job opportunities or private owned businesses.

This is the issue; there needs to be a stage where we stop competing, not that we must calculate our prospective expenditures or futuristic outlays but then seeing the much in what we have and placing a sense of contentment.

The feeling that people need to make more money, even when they don't really need to is as a result of greed, it's born out of ostentatiousness and an urge to be wasteful. While I believe the personal decision to be contented in diverse people can make it easier for more people to enter the competition quite fairly, I still believe the world is unfairly inclined; many are born into roles like that of "CEO's" when they didn't actually need to prove their worthy to get it.
