"Bitcoin will do to banks what email did to the postal industry. " Rick Flkvinge

Hello community, today I want to talk about this sentence with which I start this publication, and it seems to be a little "drastic" at first glance, however, if we think about the postal industry and what really happened to it with the emergence of email, it makes us reflect, or does it?.

Of course, in this opportunity we are talking about a very powerful industry such as the financial industry, we cannot compare it in terms of economic power with the postal industry, obviously, however, analyzing the last 4 months, we have been able to see that large amounts of institutional money is entering the global market capitalization of cryptocurrencies, and it is logical to think that 20 years ago, that money would have entered the traditional money game (banking) and not in the crypto world, since two decades ago cryptos did not exist? or am I wrong?*

I would like to make some statements below, I would like that after reading me you can leave your opinion about it.

There is a new reality with the emergence of DeFi, and is that the amount of money that has been invested since last year is impressive, and does not seem to have a medium-term decrease in these revenues, the application of smart contracts has allowed the development of a new economic system, in which an algorithm is the one that serves as an intermediary between two parties.

We can get loans through DeFi, and wasn't it the banks that were in charge of this?, many people put money on fixed term in banks to receive a more or less decent interest on their capital, but we know that the interest that can be generated through DeFi can be huge, and this is already something that places cryptos above the traditional system, at least in this aspect.

Of course, we know that the volatility of cryptos can play against us in this aspect, since a strong drop in the price of a coin can make us lose our money or at least, take a long time to return to the purchase price, we know that these are possible realities. And it is one of the characteristics of cryptos that keeps many on the sidelines.

Another important aspect to highlight when we talk about transfers, come on, we all know that many transactions in traditional banking have a duration that can last for several days if we refer to international transfers. If we compare it, for example, with transactions on this platform, we can realize that they take just seconds to be completed, and that is already a great gain. The speed, less protocols or special codes makes many people prefer the crypto environment to manage our finances.

The other aspect that according to my appreciation have cryptocurrencies transactions with the use of blockchain, over traditional banking, is the cost of transactions. I know that banks charge high percentages to transact between a bank in one country to another, and you get charged by the sending bank as well as the receiving bank, which makes you lose a lot in fee collection. How much does it cost to make a transaction on this platform?, we already know the answer.

I do not mean by this that banks are dying and that overnight they will cease to exist, surely there could come an open war against cryptos, or simply somehow incorporate them into their services and products in order to enter the new era of finance and technologies, I do not know, but what I do know is that right now, cryptocurrencies and blockchain have a great weight in the world market.

This is part of what I think about it, I would like to know your opinion, you can leave it in the comments and I will gladly read them and respond.
