I was talking with a friend about how down business has been this period. She confirmed same to me and said that she is looking at quitting if by the end of this month, she doesn't see any change. I was surprised because she just started this business some few months back and it is not even up to a year to even say that she has tried enough. Now the real truth is that her expectations in her business have been cut short.

This exactly is how some hive users feel at the moment. I know some people who started blogging on hive the same time as me and they are just no where to be found anymore. They got tired, powered down and left. A lot of persons who joined hive, had this get-rich-quick mentality. Well, I can't say if it is them who choose to see hive that way or their on boarders who didn't explain or who wasn't truthful to them about how the blockchain works.

Hive is not a ponzi scheme or a place to make it speedily. In fact just like every other successful company, hive is a gradual process community. So if you want to make quick money, you will have to look somewhere else. This is the reason why almost every time, we find some people who abandon the blockchain because they no longer have the patience to wait to make it.

New users especially, fall into this category. I have read stories of people who have stayed here for two-three years. Initially it was not easy for them as they struggled too. Upvotes didn't come easily for them but they still didn't give up. They continued to show up and for a lot of them, it feels like this is when they are eating the fruit of their patience.

It is okay to be expectant but be aware too that your expectations may not be exactly the way you have in mind. Whatever expectations you had before joining hive, should be kept aside. I told myself that whether or not I don't get the upvotes, I will continue to show up here because the knowledge I get from reading other articles from my fellow hive users cannot be compared to anything. Even though sometimes I get sad when I don't get up to $1 upvote considering the time and energy I put into writing my contents.

The best way to stay here, is to unlearn to learn. Take your mind off the rewards and just flow. Engage with people and have fun here. That's the best way to enjoy staying here.

Does hive meet your expectations?
