Here you can see my latest remixed digital artwork which I have just launched as a NFT (non fungible token) on the Hive blockchain today. ETH blockchain would have been an option but the gas fees of $12 put me off using it. I know that essentially I could make up the fees by charging an appropriate price in ETH to cover all the costs. However, I’m in the early phase of my NFT career, and I want to become more familiar with the system and platforms first. And I need to be certain of sales of course. At this early stage I’m just happy to build up a collection of works and become used to the process. Sales may come later.

It’s not that there are masses of collectors waiting for new art to purchase. There may still only be a handful of NFT creators and traders, so this is just my next artwork for the portfolio. The minimal fees on the Hive blockchain favor an amateur artist like myself. At the NFT Showroom I can build a collection as well as put some prints up for sale for a minimal price.

In today’s image you can see the marble deity or statue from one of the big temples of the goddess Radha, who is depicted standing to the left of her male consort Krishna. Radha is another manifestation of the goddess Lakshmi devi, who accompanies Vishnu as the topmost divine couple in the pantheon from the Vedic culture of ancient India. As Lakshmi devi, the divinity is known as “the goddess of fortune” and is usually depicted in classical imagery as having coins flowing from her palms. The fortune or blessings are being bestowed by the goddess to the worthy, sincere or devoted worshipper. Today I put a digital ETH logo in the palm of the goddess, considering that this is my personal meditation for the moment.

I meditate on the goddess bestowing her mercy upon me, blessing me with abundance via the cryptocurrency blockchain. The coins are now ETH tokens and other ERC-20 tokens, as well as all cryptocurrencies. Already I have been blessed by Lakshmi devi and her higher manifestation Radha, and now I reciprocate by adding her to my artwork as a NFT portrait.

If you have been following the latest crypto memes, you will know that Elon Musk has just invested heavily in bitcoin through his company Tesla. And you will know that Musk also just changed his Twitter logo to a Bitcoin logo. Add to that the fact that he has just changed his profile pic to one showing an anime female character, with laser beams coming out of her eyes. This is the latest meme doing the rounds today – the laser eyes.

So with that in mind, I have added the same laser beams emanating from our beloved goddess here today. Just one glance from her and we are blessed with abundant fortune. So is she looking at you? Are you receiving the merciful sidelong glance from the goddess of fortune? She is “hodling” in her hand the ETH in all its glory, giving it to those who are worthy. May you be blessed by Radha, or Lakshmi, simply by looking at this picture, and may you gain her mercy, not only to be bestowed with abundant ETH, but also to be introduced to the original source, and reunited with him – her consort Krishna.

I won’t get too esoteric but I do like to create mythical, mystical or metaphysical artworks, where there are spiritual or philosophical references and celestial iconography. Here I have combined my two interests of Vedic mysticism with cryptocurrecy. And the result is a remixed and new presentation of the goddess in all her glory, bestowing digital coin upon us today.

Some may consider me iconoclastic or irreverent, while I simply like to see it as a modern equivalent on an ancient theme. And my meditation has been on the form of the goddess throughout. So I see this as religious art, depicted in a modern manner, as a NFT digital manifestation of an ancient deity.

My aim is to generate artworks with memes of all the different cryptocurrencies. Today we have ETH, held in the hands of the most auspicious goddess Radharani or Lakshmi devi. This is a photo that I have reworked and edited with ink added via an editing tool app on my computer. It is simple and perhaps naive, and that is fine. It conveys the meme nicely and so I hope you like it.
