PackagePortal a DeFi project for package delivery data

Hi Hive,

Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite "real-world" applications of DeFi and smart contracts that I have been using on a daily basis; PackagePortal.

This DeFi project, which is based on the Zilliqa blockchain, is a project that rewards online shoppers when they confirm the delivery of the goods that were purchased online and shipped to their doorsteps. The delivery code on the package is scanned and a short one-click survey is filled in by the online shopper to review the delivery service and they will be rewarded with 1 XPORT token. Nowadays, this is 1 XPORT token but at the start of this project, the online shopper was rewarded with 1 PORT token. For reference; 1 PORT token is worth 100 XPORT tokens.

Because I was early in the project, I was able to gather some initial PORT tokens by scanning packages on delivery. Holding the PORT tokens allowed me to be eligible for the airdrops that happened at the beginning of the previous year. Which made me end up with 45 PORT tokens. I have been staking these PORT tokens since the first day that staking was enabled by smart contracts for PackagePortal. Because there is a lock-up period, anyone who wants to unstake their PORT tokens has to pay a fee to not have to wait for the lock-up period to end. Due to these fees, I have received another 15 PORT tokens. This, together with the staking rewards brings me to my total of 67.89 PORT as of today. Which is worth around $707.50, which equates to $10.42 per PORT. However, we have seen the price of PORT well over $100. Even though I do not see this price per PORT token anytime soon, I do expect that we could trend to $25 to $30 per PORT token this year. Which, at $25, would make my 67.89 PORT tokens worth well over $1500. Keep in mind; I have never invested a single dollar into PORT and this was all done by scanning packages upon delivery.

Keep your eyes open for these sorts of DeFi projects that implement into your daily lives and if you see an opportunity arise, spend those 1 or 2 minutes a day and interact with it. You never know if it might be the next big thing and make you a lot of money.
