The Future of Altcoins - "Digital Silver" - Our "Little Ones" like Steem, Hive, Leo
Last year ended with the bull run of Bitcoin, and of the altcoins, Ethereum also performed excellently. If an analogy is used, bitcoin corresponds to gold, Ethereum (and other good altcoins) to silver. And just as silver is undervalued in the market, so are altcoins. They have far more potential than is generally thought. This situation may change soon, because if the capitalization of bitcoin reaches a sufficiently high level, its exchange rate will increase less or maybe stagnant. Thus, investors will rather turn to altcoins, most notably Ethereum.

Another argument in favor of Ethereum: Smart contract
Decentralized finances, in short DeFis, go almost exclusively to the Ethereum system, where most smart contracts take place. So it dominates pretty much the entire sector, while Bitcoin doesn’t have that. The future of smart contracts is in almost every area of life. Thanks to the young Russian developer, the father of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, who invented the system.
Other altcoins will also rise over time, but you never know what the leading altcoins will be. And certainly, most of the altcoins will disappear in the sink.
The "little ones"
Since I only know Steem, Hive, and most recently, Leo, of the altcoins, I won’t talk about the others.
Steemit was the first platform to blog on a blockchain system in 2016. *Steem token had a huge jump in the round of 2017-18 and then fell into deepness and has been getting "sick" ever since. However, Steem is 149th on the leaderboard. I have a feeling that since Justin Sun took over the leadership of Steemit, many big whales have disappeared from the system, that means they have withdrawn their power, and I think they are likely to have switched to Hive. The number of fresh posts on Steemit has also dropped a lot, I see it’s good to have one per hour. If I write a post, I can be happy to get a few cents for my work. Although I am not in the habit of judging, my feeling is that Justin Sun has deliberately and unscrupulously ruined Steem to transfer resources to his new cryptocurrency, named Tron. No wonder most of Steemit society hates him and switched to Hive. Still, I hope Steemit gets a new impetus one day...
Steem's "offspring," *Hive isn't one year old yet, so it's very young. It ranks 170th, which is quite good compared to the many thousands of altcoins. I feel that even though its exchange rate is down now, it works well. The community is great, the content is also high quality, it is a pleasure to blog because I am not writing for emptiness but for living people who appreciate my work and I appreciate them too. Hive is now like Steem's "heroic age". Only differences that whales don't downvote for no reason (unfortunately I had more of these experiences at Steemit) and no paid votebots as a kind of corruption. And no spam! I love Hive, although I have to power down now due to my costs, I hope to be able to rebuild my power soon. I feel Hive is in good hands so far and I hope it stays that way and develops a lot, like a community ecosystem where people help each other. The value of Hive can also go up to at least 1-2 or more dollars during the year.
Finally, *Leo and LeoFinance blog! I don’t know them enough yet, but I have high hopes for them. In any case, a very likeable initiative! And Leo Finance’s blogs provide me very useful knowledge and expertise. I also try to increase the knowledge, I got the urge to learn, to understand the contexts of crypto universe.
