Sudden weather change in markets
It feels sometimes that we forget how dangerous the weather in the mountains can be. One moment I was sitting in the sun, the next moment it was pouring rain again. After that the sun came back and all of a sudden there was this.
Rapidly incoming clouds and fog which take away your sight in a matter of not even a minute. Spooky stuff. Together with some thunder in the background this is a recipe for disaster if you decide to go hiking without having checked the weather beforehand.
I remember these types of weather conditions from my skiing days, where it seemed like a good idea to go on a tour far far away from your hometown, but then it ended up in total mayhem and you needed a catch a bus home because skiing was not possible anymore and it just got way too dangerous. I haven't seen these conditions so much in summer as yet, but yet here they are.
Imagine yourself climbing up some mountain without knowing the route all too well, and ending up in this.
Im staying in for a hot choco (although it isn't cold at all, but just because it suits the situation so well) and make my way down towards the lake when there is better vision again
For me this was just a scary situation because it looked spooky, but in a lot of places around me that week treacherous weather has caused severe damage on houses, flooding and big ass hailstones. The weather feels a bit out of control at the moment and you should not be fooled by it. Getting caught while hiking or so when the fog pulls up losing your orientation followed by massive water coming out of the sky. That is no joke
And again as always the similarities with the cryptomarkets are just there. One day everything can be euphoric and you just have started climbing the steeper mountain of gains, using more risk and more leverage. And then the clouds come passing in, or maybe even in the fog you don’t see the crash coming until it is already pouring rain.
So many people get totally rekt and never take a profit, as well that some people will always end up on that mountain having to call the mountain rescue services. The road up has so many options for taking and securing gains, as well as taking rests on the mountain. You don’t need to be up only. As long as you just be safe!
I know I feel a lot better taking profits and then maybe less gains, but at least then you walk outside with something in your pocket, versus the good old liquidation.
