Last night was another press conference from the Dutch government about the current Covid-19 measures and the changes to them.

Today government talks again about potentially raising salaries in Dutch healthcare, which again for the 4th time will most likely not pass through.

The image below says it all, the soldiers amongst us are slowly drifting to sleep

I saw this picture a while back when waiting in the bus in Utrecht (Holland) when the trains were not passing, so another transport was arranged in the form of busses. I am really not familiar in Utrecht but this big piece of art was on a building there near the central station and I just had to take a picture from it

The Covid measures sharpened to an advisory of not letting more than 6 people in your garden. This sounds like a decent advise, but I find Dutch people always kind of stubborn (including myself!) An advise is something that can be used to bend a little bit, and so people will. I have the feeling that this measure will literally do nothing, because people are still enjoying the weather and BBQing with their whole family like there is no tomorrow. Secretly everyone realises that soon Covid will take over again and we will all be back locked inside.

Amsterdam got new measures on its own, because of the amount of local outbreaks which are there. They started on the so called 'ladder of escalation' which means they can easily shift over to measures closing for instance bars and restaurants at 00.00. Also masks are mandatory in some public occasions (which was already in place)

To me in particular Amsterdam people are a little stubborn with measures because they weren't hit really hard in the previous wave, which was worse in the South of Holland. Because of this they didn't really 'see' what damage can be done by the virus. In the South of Holland almost everyone knows someone who was hospitalized or died. It makes it different.

Now the thing is with all of the measures....They change so often and that is a good thing, but also a bad thing. I consider myself someone who is trying to keep up with everythng what is happening around covid. But not everyone does, because a lot of people are fed up with it. Unstandable, I am as well.

But I have the feeling that more and more people are putting their head in their ass to ignore what is going on. Today I read somewhere that in Belgium only 31% of the population is still supporting the measures put up by goverment. In April this was like 75% or so. A huge difference in terms of if people whatever you put them too. People are slacking because they don't feel the urge anymore. Also understandable, I do the same.

You feel the unhappiness starting to slip in. You see the amount of violence rising in the news, because people don't really have a way of expressing their feelings. It feels like a boiling pot which is starting to produce steam...

You see the deprivation of the dollar, you see the deprivation of the Turkish Lira dropping 25% in value. What will everyones money be worth? is this the moment people will step over to cryptocurrency as a 'stable' coin, just as in gold. The world will change over the next couple of years I have the feeling. And it sure as hell will not be for the better.

I don't know what will happen. But it doesn't feel all that good.
