THE YEAR 2022

For me, the year 2022 has really not been smooth, not because things are rough or there’s a struggle to survive, but because I had my plate and table full of courses and new skills to acquire. Barely had enough time for myself, and a lot of people I call friends had to back out, leaving me isolated because they felt “you don’t have my time anymore”.

Well, that’s true, I didn’t have their time, I mean I didn’t even have my time, so it’s not my fault, right? Maybe if they came in from an angle of “let’s learn this together”, just maybe it would’ve been a different story.
Oh did I forget to mention, it’s my first post here on the Hive community, discovering this goldmine is one of the things I’m so proud of this year, we’ll talk about this later in the post.

LOOKING BACK

Stepping into 2022 twelve months ago, I was all caught up in the whole "new year resolution" excitement trend, and just like every other year, I had my goals, dreams, and vision set for the new one.

But then this time, something was different. This little ingredient is what spiced everything up and helped me achieve every single thing I wrote down, and that is hard work. Probably along my hive journey, I’ll do a video to explain this journey in detail so you don’t get bored reading.

So looking back, do I have any regrets? YES!!! I regret putting limits on my mind, I regret not setting bigger goals, because I still would’ve achieved all of them. But then, I’ve learned something crucial and that’s, the human mind has no limit, it’s only limited by the capacity of its bearer.

My Tech Journey

So here’s where I’ll introduce myself in brief. I’m Kingsley Etim (a.k.a Kelly), a 22-year-old Civil Engineering graduate, trader, technical analyst, and a tech-inclined video animator and motion designer. Haha, sounds spicy right? Well, relax, all this spiciness took a lot of work to brew.

Here, meet my Engineering half

Now meet my Tech half

I’ve been in the tech space for about a year and 6 months and still counting. I’ve always loved making videos, since my high school days, with the famous mobile app vivavideo, then to inshot and canva. Canva became quite my thing, easy to navigate through, I got really creative with it, did amazing videos, got cool contracts, started earning a few dollars and I was comfortable at that level.

Then one time I got talking with one of my mentors in the industry and he said something that crushed my ego and feeling of achievement to “minus zero”, he said, “kelly, if you’ve reached your goal set a bigger goal, if you’ve climbed to the top of the mountain, find a bigger mountain”.

After hearing these words, I decided to do my research, began connecting with other techies and I discovered I had barely even scratched the surface of this videography career. Fast forward to, today I now have skills in Adobe Illustrator, after effects, photoshop, and filmora.

Discovering Hive

Always keeping in mind what my mentor said, I have refused to settle. I took up a full course with chaindustry to broaden my knowledge of web3 and that’s where I found this goldmine, Hive. Discovering hive I would say has added another arsenal to my armory, another skill to my portfolio, and another milestone for me to be proud of in 2022.

Conclusively

The year 2022 has been a year of endless learning, earning simultaneously, acquiring knowledge, improving my skills, and adding new skills to my skillsets too. Going forward, I’ll still keep it at that. Learning never stops, as long as there’s life in you. And when you don’t compromise your learning process, your earnings will have no choice but to keep flowing.

Let this day, the day I joined the Hive community, be written in the sands of time, it is indeed an outstanding achievement for me. My beloved Hive community, I’ll leave this with you… Learn, Earn, Repeat, this is the pattern, the loop my tech career has survived on and it’s unending.

I appreciate you for reading through and celebrating this achievement with me.

@appreciator, @Ocdb, @ecency, @samostically, @tralvager please sirs, kindly support my introduction post.

CHEERS!!!
