#piratesunday: Captain Nyssacat373 Strikes again!
P
” Blackbirds tend to like Shiny Things” ~ The Bloody Raven
The belated Christmas package arriving exactly one month after holidays from Nyssacat373 aka Dr.Who from the Discord silver pouring Chats and Instagram community, continues to shower me with surprises from his shiny collection of treasures. He may have intentionally left the documentation and COAs of the previous gift as a pretext for adding this next surprise.
He knows my modus operandi and that I am on the clear mission of Pirate Theme Collecting so premiums be damned when the right piece comes along. For those with tender ears/eyeballs I apologize for my use of the expletive.
The First Item: The Royal Fortune
1981 Antigua & Barbuda 100 Gold & Silver Dollars
Obverse; Black (Bartholomew Robert’s) Bart’s Royal Fortune
Legend; GOVERNMENT OF ANTIGUA & BARBUDA, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, 100, Royal Fortune
Size 152 x 70 mm
23k Gold plating on 0.958 Silver, 2.43g
Mintage of 20,000
Captain Nyssacat373 had anticipated me matching the Black Flag series Perth Mint coins to these fabulous banknotes. I have already done that with the Queen Anne’s Revenge of Captain Edward Teach on a prior past post.
A closer look of the Royal Fortune
I am not certain how many coins the Perth Mint would be producing for the Black Flag series, but this Antigua Barbuda series covers 30 famous sailing ships.
With the anticipated Issue of the next Perth Mint Black sails coin I would certainly look for the corresponding Antigua & Barbuda banknote note.
I ‘ve also come across a clue to the Maker of these banknotes from Apmex’s product specifications. They list the purity of these notes as 0.958 rather than 0.999. The Royal Mint exclusively produces this purity as ‘Britannia Silver” so a mystery has been solved on who minted these products.

With the passing of the Utah Legal Tender act of 2011, The Utah Precious Metals Association was formed in 2012 from the “Citizens for Sound Money”.
Their website has a wonderfully detailed of this grass roots organization, it’s history, background and mission for the purpose of this form of currency.
According to Goldback.com , this note has legal tender status in the State of Utah yet barterable outside anywhere else in the US.
BOTTOM TEXT; This Gold Coin Contains
1/1000TH TROY OUNCE 24K GOLD

And as far as I'm concerned, Canada too. I should stack a few more of these.
The Third item in this gift package
Numista; Germany Reichsbanknote 100000 Mark
Obverse; Portrait of Georg Gisze, Lathework Border
Legend; Reichsbanknote Hunderttausend Mark, 100000 Mark
Translation of Text; The Reichsbank main cash office in Berlin pays the seller one hundred thousand marks against this banknote; Berlin, February 1, 1923; Reichsbank directorate.
Watermark on the Right Side
Who can’t forget this prime examples of Economic History, an actual 100,000 Mark banknote from the Wiemar Republic, Circa Feb 1st 1923. In August of that same year the Republic issued the 1,000,000 Mark banknote. Then in short order the 10,000,000 and 20,000,000 Mark notes followed in September.
More examples of Wiemar banknotes here.
It is a reminder that Fiat currencies do not end well with Governments printing cash into a worthlessness existence. Is it not that reason enough why many of us are here to get into assets and ideals that will carry us through a coming Economic crisis?
Numista; Germany Reichsbanknote 100000 Mark
Reverse; 100000 Denomination, Border Lathework
Legend; Reichsbanknote Hunderttausend Mark
Size: 190mm X 114mm
Reference Pick #83
Watermark on the Left blank side
Captain Nyssacat373 understands the role of Precious metals in economics. His addition of this historical Wiemar banknote makes an interesting counterpoint or contrast from the 100 Dollar Antigua & Barbuda and the One Utah Goldback notes. Now if I can painlessly explain to him how the role of Crypto currencies can complement Precious metal stacking as part of an Off the Grid portfolio. 樂
And finally, to round off this Christmas surprise
Pirate Lord EDC Handkerchief by Black Flag EDC
An old-world styled hanky for the modern-day minded Pirate. To wipe off my bloody sword? No. To hold up as a white flag? Heavens no. To blow my dainty big nose? Maybe, but too good for that. You may see this as an appropriate background in my coin photography.
