If there was a Royal who had a natural public appeal it was Princess Diana. She was what I thought the commoner like us living a dream life with her 'Prince Charming'. But it wasn't the dream life as advertised. Who but only the royals themselves and their high society machinations know what was behind her dissatisfaction and it wasn't from just living a fishbowl existence.
