I always vote on people commenting on my posts or replying to my comments as long as I feel it was sincere and not only made to farm attention/LEO.
I feel like this should be common practice and I do have the feeling that more and more people are picking it up. Yet you are correct, if you take the time to leave a reply, upvote everything, and don't receive any reaction, it certainly is frustrating.
