I have a Ledger Nano S which is connected to my Metamask account. My Metamask account is in turn connected to this account on Hive/LeoF and it is also the account I use for connecting to https://cubdefi.com/ so that I can enter the Farms and Dens.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, have a read of this and ask yourself where on Earth you have been :D.

Anyhow, when I tried to sign a transaction in order to get going, I got a message from the browser asking me to sign into metamask/github.io. I had my Ledger connected and I had the LedgerLive software open on my desktop. I wasn't sure of things: whether the BSC app was required or whether the Ethereum app would handle the transaction. I had the Ethereum and BSC apps installed, but neither of them open. I was logged into the Ledger device with my PIN.

The Solution:

I hunted around on the internet for some answers and got them.

Basically:

  • Do not launch LedgerLive software, you will confirm the transaction directly on your Ledger device
  • Connect your Ledger device via USB and enter your PIN
  • Open the Ethereum app on your Ledger device
  • Perform the transaction on cubdefi.com and sign it in Metamask - this should be done after the Ethereum app has been launched on your Ledger device
  • Your Ledger device will now ask you to review and approve the transaction/fees
  • Voila

I hope this is helpful for anyone else who may have encountered this issue.

BTW, whenever I go to the 'exchange' tab on cubdefi.com and select a currency from the dropdown menu, the 'wooosh' sound that emerges always gives me a fright. I don't see any way of turning it off either! Anyone else?
