Gods Unchained - How to Use the New and Improved Forge

Gods Unchained is one blockchain game that holds a special place in my heart. I've been playing since 2018 off and on. It was the only blockchain game back then that even interested me to be honest. There was just so much absolute garbage in terms of true blockchain games that it was hard for me to find good ones. The minute I got Gods Unchained up and running and did my first battle, I was hooked. The graphics were complete shit and the game was very glitchy but there was just something about it. Fast forward to now - you have a long time player that's an embarassingly low level lol

The Forge

So - the Forge is where you're able to combine like cards into higher rarity versions using Flux (and GODS). Being that the game runs on Ethereum and Ethereum is known for its asinine gas fees. Back then it wasn't much of an issue but lately, minting an NFT is like a new car payment just for the gas. So shortly after going live, the Forge was closed due to network congestion and high fees. Then it just never opened back up. Well, 2 years later we have the cards in Gods Unchained living on Immutable X, their very own Layer 2 solution for NFTs. The gas fees are nothing and transactions are instant. All still verified and secured by the base Layer Ethereum blockchain. Just recently the Forge reopened and I had yet to use it. So I finally minted some new cards on Immutable X via the forge.

Once you select your card and then the other required card, you'll be given a price in Flux and GODS to combine. These prices are determined by the card's rarity. I can't remember the exact scale, but I'm using GODS that I earned by playing anyway so I don't really care about price. Take Managarmr, Moon Hound for example - awesome card. To get meteorite, I combine 2 base and 200 Flux, 1.5 GODS.

Once you hit Fuse, you're taken to the web to confirm.

You'll have to sign with Both Metamask and Immutable X. Hopefully Immutable comes out with a chrome extension or something.

Sign with Metamask, and confirm.

Confirm the amount of GODS being spent. I guess you wanna be extra sure? lol. It will make you sign again with Metamask.

Now you can see your newly minted NFT at the Immutable X Marketplace under the inventory tab. Now you have just converted 2 base cards into a Meteorite card on Immutable X. Ready to sell or do whatever with.
