Inside Samsung's 837X Metaverse Experience - Win Some Exclusive NFTs
Earlier today, I wrote a post about Samsung opening a store in Decentraland. I figured I'd pop in and check it out since they are giving away some NFTs that can be worn on your avatar. I have to say - this shit was really cool. Very immersive and interactive.
Decentraland Samsung 837X
I've only logged into Decentraland on a handful of occasions to check out a few different experiences, mainly because I can't afford buying NFTs on Ethereum lol. It's still really cool to connect your Metamask, create an avatar from the free options like shirts, hats, and pixelated sunglasses. Then you're dropped into Decentraland where you can freely explore and check out live events. It took me a minute of playing with the controls and whatnot to figure out how to go to a specific location, but I figured it out. You can see the location name and coordinates in the selfie above.
This was so fucking cool. That's like the only way to describe it. They built this store and the attention to detail is amazing. They even have NFT clothing on display in the window. I tried to get the avatar to look as much like me as possible but they didn't have hair long enough. Anyway - I'm hoping to win the bad ass Samsung swag. I have to say - this is the best metaverse experience I've ever had.
When you walk through the door, you have to hop through this tunnel. They make sure you know it's Samsung with all the branding. This experience has 3 quests to complete in order to earn badges. These badges get you entries into the drawings for the NFT swag for your avatar.
These 3 quests are in 3 different experiences they created. They don't have to be done in any order, and each of them showcase something totally unique that you can interact with. Connect and Power the 3 Theatre orbs, Sustain the Mythic Forest of 2 Million Trees, and Customize the Musical Stage in Real-Time. The 4th badge is in the main area where the portals are centered around.
Find all 4 badges and get entered into all tiers of the giveaway. This is Epics, Legendary, and Mythic wearables all with varying rarity. Man these NFT clothing items look sick. I never thought I'd actually be hyped about it but... I'm ready to get my NFT Yeezys now...
Just dancin and shit.. You know, stuff you do in the metaverse. It took me a minute to figure out how to get the badge from this one. The theatre showcased all the things that were shown at CES this year, which is pretty awesome. This is where they show off all the crazy new things they're building and concepts of things that they might.
The forest of 2 million trees was crazy. There's nowhere near 2 million trees, but it's a representation of the 2 million trees that they are planting in Madagascar. Very eco-friendly and great for the environment.
Make sure to get all 4 badges before 8 p.m. EST, which is a few hours. It'll probably take you all of 15 minutes to get them. You don't need a VR headset, just a computer and a Metamask wallet to log in. Very fun and cool experience to explore. I'm gunna hop back in there later and see if there's anything else going on.
